Most kids going the D3 path could've gotten there with hs (IF they are a good student) and an NPL club, so stop the bs. DA is a BUST unless it is an MLS affiliate.

Yes the school matters to the kid, but the pool is limited with the league they are playing in.

1% of kids that are REAL LIGIT D1 players would choose a good/great D3 school over an good academic soccer program from the Patriot League. The allure of D1 will haunt a person forever...….know to many talented players over the past 25 years second guess the "what if's"...…. BUT the player and parents need to know the true caliber of the player.
If they have the opportunity to play and train with DA why would they do highschool or play NPL, yes that can get them to d3 but it will put them back in experience, DA is about the caliber of the players and teams, it’s a great experience

All you false points and to end with this statement "won't play a role at all in their future". I hope you are not involved with GDA marketing.
They mean at the end of the day it’s about the education they get, that’s what matters, not what division they play for, it’s the education that creates their future

I have a 11 year old girl at OW, she will play DA and I expect to to make a career as a professional soccer player

No doubt, but put on your kids 16-17 yr old helmet for a second and they don't understand about "How great of an academic school" they go to unless Mom or dad were prior alum and donors. THEY care about what their peers think and what the NLI day like with that sweatshirt on. It sounds easy when a parent is driving the bus, but the kid ultimately needs to love their decision. So many silly things can sway their choice or what is believed to be the correct choice (in Mom and Dads eyes). It could be as simple as I don't want to play with a former teammate, I know girls from my school that go there, the dorms are ugly, etc.
Not anything about the education, job placement alum help, $$$,etc.
Not as easy as "Its about education and only education".... Seen it to many times. If it were that easy, Amherst and Williams would look like UVA's roster.

The caliber of the teams? Are you for real? Look at the teams they added in the NE in the past year alone. They are looking for numbers not quality. Open up your eyes or get your head out of the sand.

I'm assuming this is a joke.

If you truly are a crazy person and you want your daughter to be a professional soccer player, you should probably pack up and move your family to California immediately... lol

Ironically you will find the sand where you’re arse is

If the DA was so good why did so many of the top clubs who tried the DA leave? The proof is in the pudding. In our region PDA and Stars tried and left. Penn fusion and NEFC would do anything to get back in.

We were actually looking into this as there seems to be more pros coming out of California. If she seems to be not progressing like she should we will look into it for sure, we will give her one more year and see

Don’t ruin the game for your daughter, let her enjoy the game and the experiences don’t expect something of an 11 year old, she still has a lot of growing up to do and playing professional might not be what she wants. Don’t put that stress on her, she needs to enjoy it, and if she enjoys it maybe that’ll be something she will strive for but for all the parents out there you need to let your children decide and respect what they decide because it’s their life and they’re decision

DA is the best league to play in, for exposure, style of play, and learning, no DA isn’t a promise to play on the national team but it does give you a better chance as it is affiliated with the national team. Skipping highschool soccer is a safer options when having the chance to play DA, There are many friendships formed on teams that are stronger than highschool friendships. Thinking someone is wasting their time playing DA to play d3 is absurd, it’s about the training and atmosphere, something that can get a player ready for any level of college. And don’t think that just because a DA player didn’t go d1 doesn’t mean they didn’t have the opportunity, it comes down to the school, academics, and being the right fit and what the player wants commitment wise. At the end of the day it is a pathway to their future and career not what division the soccer team is, that won’t play a role at all in their future.
Idiot parent or kool aid selling Daddy coach?

OW top players are getting the same recruiting looks as players 14-18 at CFC. The league is also horrific here in the Northeast

Trust me, now that the 2020 class is wrapped up for CFC all of the club owners attention will shift to the class of 2021 and helping these girls get recruited. They may not be as good as the other teams but they have talent and will end up at some good mid to lower level D1 schools. This is where CFC makes their $$$, the college commit lists. No way they turn their back on an age group and just chalk it up to a bad year. I think you will all look back in a year from now and be surprised at the list of schools this group commits to.

This depends on the club, there are some really bad DA clubs out there. OW is one of them.

does anyone at OW help in the recruiting process other than going to showcases and by chance a coach standing on the sidelines happens to look at you when you did something good.

And it’s because of parents like you that this state doesn’t produce a lot of pro players. In Europe young players eat breathe and bleed for soccer and that’s how we are raising her. If it works there, I can make it work here
