People only hear what they want and believe what they want true or not, remember you are talking about kids with choices and most make the choice that fits them best. And for a lot of kids high school soccer is not what they choose - high school soccer in most towns is very ugly, and most of these kids do not play DA or ECNL as a pathway to US national team, as they are smart enough to know that those players are few and far between...

Who cares which one you think is better, what matters is a kid goes to the school of their choosing, you have no idea who is being recruited by what colleges and if a player chooses d2 or D3 over D1, a lot of players are not interested in D1 and the commitment that comes with it To some the college experience at a college they like is more important

That’s CFC’s rockstar class. The kids coming off the bench are committed to D1 programs. Will never happen again in CT. CFC basically aggregated the top 20 players in CT and didn’t stop there, they then went and took FSA’s kids who are also headed to D1 programs.

Look at the 2021 for a reality check. Very little traction. Will look very much like a typical FSA team.

Sometimes you get an unlucky year. FSA and OW are lacking in that class as well so it will be interesting to see how they all compare in a down year. Otherwise no doubt CFC rules in CT. OW is getting a little stronger, YU weaker after their super team graduates. FSA just weak all around

DA is the strongest league there is, if someone has an opportunity to play in it and get to train most take it, some want to play highschool but most don’t. DA is the best league to play in, for exposure, style of play, and learning, no DA isn’t a promise to play on the national team but it does give you a better chance as it is affiliated with the national team. Skipping highschool soccer is a safer options when having the chance to play DA, There are many friendships formed on teams that are stronger than highschool friendships. Thinking someone is wasting their time playing DA to play d3 is absurd, it’s about the training and atmosphere, something that can get a player ready for any level of college. And don’t think that just because a DA player didn’t go d1 doesn’t mean they didn’t have the opportunity, it comes down to the school, academics, and being the right fit and what the player wants commitment wise. At the end of the day it is a pathway to their future and career not what division the soccer team is, that won’t play a role at all in their future.

We are talking scholarships right? Class of 2021 scholarships are all gone. Go ahead and count just getting into program but you can do that at anytime. I thought the discussion was about something meaningful.

Most kids going the D3 path could've gotten there with hs (IF they are a good student) and an NPL club, so stop the bs. DA is a BUST unless it is an MLS affiliate.


Yes the school matters to the kid, but the pool is limited with the league they are playing in.

1% of kids that are REAL LIGIT D1 players would choose a good/great D3 school over an good academic soccer program from the Patriot League. The allure of D1 will haunt a person forever...….know to many talented players over the past 25 years second guess the "what if's"...…. BUT the player and parents need to know the true caliber of the player.
