It is a respectable list of colleges. The problem that Oakwood has with college commit lists is that the commitment list from CFC United ECNL is much more impressive and those girls all got to enjoy a few months of high school soccer with their classmates.

If the class of 2019 and 2020 commitment lists on TopDrawer Soccer are accurate, then Oakwood has some serious explaining to do when it comes to college exposure that the DA is providing. How CFC can produce several Power 5 conference commits plus Ivy league, Patriot league and numerous other D1 schools while Oakwood is sending their girls off to the same local schools that they were sending their NPL players to a few years ago is enough evidence to conclude that ECNL is head and shoulders the top league for girls that want to play in college.

Who do they need to explain themselves to? You? Why?

They owe nothing to anyone other than the players who chose to play there. It could simply be that the overall quality of players at CFC is stronger than at Oakwood. Certainly many here seem to think so.

It comes down to the same thing I have said here many times. If the players who play at Oakwood end up at the first school of their choice, then their time at Oakwood was well spent. Which of those Oakwood kids did not get into their first school of choice? Do you even know?

I know 1/2 dozen players who didn't play at any of those clubs, but attended the same high school and graduated a month ago. Everyone one of them was recruited by colleges locally and some were recruited by schools down south and as far west as St. Louis. Some accepted, some didn't.

None of those clubs have the magic ticket to get anyone onto a college roster.

Whatever..... We all met and were about to leave when the call came in. We ended up playing in Portland instead. It worked out because we had better competition amongst our teams. The FSA whooping must've made DC change his mind rather quickly.

You are a funny guy. You dodge your excuse with a little humor. We had at least 6 vehicles meeting for the trip in our area. So thats enough to play, idiot. To bad your academy team backed out or DC or whomever you want an excuse for. Our girls were pumped up and after the FSA scrimmages..... It would've been the same result for us. The crown of play on the field. You can scream from the rafters about placements, but on the pitch... OW is king!

Here is what you OW koolaid drinkers need to understand, In a few years no one remembers who won or who lost games. What they do remember is if the club helped to get their kids in to the best possible schools to play soccer at and to get a degree from. Most of the parents on this board are paying thousand of dollars a year for club soccer expenses and could care less about anything other than the final outcome... college. They want to get their kids a leg up on the other students applying to great schools, they want to give their kids the opportunity to play a game they love another few years in college and they want their kids to have a degree from a top college or university.

OW sells this Utopian dream of the beautiful game. Guess what, it gets you absolutely nowhere. College coaches care about athletes that will help their programs win games and recruit the best individual players from any team, good or bad, as long as the competition they play against is top level. No one gives a crap about USDA styles of play and curriculum

Substitute CFC, FSA, Yankee or any other club name for Oakwood and this statement is equally true.

I think OW gets a lot of flak due to how they treat customers. They have some how garnered this reputation over the years that they coldly cut players as soon as the next best thing comes along, that their coaches play favorites- the system isn't merit based, and that they refuse to adapt with the times.

Oakwood looking for players this late in the game. Looks like people aren’t drinking the Kool Aid as they once were. Better coaches on the girls side compared to boys side. When you have little Ricky and Humpty Dumpty running the show eventually the boys side was going to suffer.
