If that is true then why when I go to the DA website and click on the u18/19 team for boys and look at the player profiles most of the kids have been there since u12?

This is true; they definitely poach players whenever possible. Rosters made up of Ginga, Rush, FSA and Sporting kids.

They take players yes. Poach no. People don't leave their old clubs if they're happy there. They leave because 1) they think another place is a better fit (usually looking to move up) or 2) they're unhappy with their present situation.

I'm not with OW but are they that different from other clubs? CFC has hundreds of kids that won't develop past a certain level and won't make United.
They will still outsiders who make their teams better. FSA puts players that don't develop on C teams.

By U14 or so it's a real funnel. Some kids just aren't going to make it no matter who the coaches are or how hard they work. Clubs want their teams to improve. That keeps them in business. Loyalty is nice but doesn't pay the bills.

Difference is OW touts themselves as this great developer (just ask them, they love to say it); but they are no different than any other club. So yes; you are correct.

Haters gonna Hate. Thanks for the good laugh this morning. OW has good training and their own facilities. I agree travel gets a bit long but every club has some kind of issue. OW ain't perfect but the comments here are just ridiculous.

An OW parent and no I don't drive past any other club to get to OW. If another good club was closer than OW then I would probably be there. But that is a function of I am not a crazy soccer parent like the ones I see at OW, FSA, BS, Sporting, etc. Those crazies ARE everywhere and especially here on TS so it seems.

Agree. what’s crazy is that parents on TS consistently call OW parents crazy but yet, They are the ones bombarding this blog saying that. Not sure who the crazy one is. I guess you can’t rationalize with CRAZY!
