Celtic and Sporting are the obvious go-tos.

She is headed to a very strong D1, like CCSU.

Sorry but don't agree. Celtic and Sporting have some good coaches but they aren't going to turn erkel into pulisic. Don't get me wrong, OW ulittles have their own problems but if you are trying to sell someone that Sporting or Celtic will develop them into a better player than if they made the OW team that is a stretch. So how many kids from these teams displace OW kids? One or two per team? That is not a sign of the club developing better than the other. Yes are they a good place to go train and play at ulittle, definetly yes. Especially if you are talking about a 15 minute commute over 45 minute commute. And that is the way I think most ulittle parents look at it.

If it happened to your kid maybe they just got some fire lit into them to practice on their own by being cut. Sometimes this is all a kid needs to knuckle down and practice on their own and to light the competitive fire. Being cut can be a good thing.

Are you talking YTL or something? The u11 team didn't even get enough kids to roster a full team. They had 3 open spots on their website for this age. U10 did get more kids but still no where near the amount of kids at Celtic or Sporting.

Yep. Fsa boomball. Amazing watching the lack of touch and skill at fsa ecnl.

Exactly right. Why do you think MD is moving to OW over this summer?

At U14-16, the geographic draw widens, but not by much. Certainly not by as much as you seem to think.
They have u-littles from Mass, RI, the entire eastern part of the state, east of the CT river, and several from west of the river as well. They have no competition east of the river.

You might be confusing OW ulittle tryouts with FSA.

Again, most kids on the ulittle team are from Glastonbury and surrounding area. Glastonbury does not have the best athletes in CT, it is only because that is where they are located. Older teams in DA have kids (and parents) willing to travel to be in the DA. Most sane parents don't care about preacademy status and some, those parents that don't/didn't play soccer but the want to play the game comes from their kid, don't even know what DA or OW is at that age.

For example, I have talked to parents with kids on the DA team from MA and NY. One came from upstate NY to play OW. There aren't and kids from MA or NY on ulittle. And while I can't say I have talked to all parents of ulittle I only know of only one kid that comes from more than 30 miles away.
Right. And LK comes from almost the NY border and has for a while. Lots of kids from shoreline, eastern HALF of state, RI and MASS as well.

And why do you present this as some kind of issue?

And why do you have a problem with this decision? Should they not put up the strongest teams they can form? Ultimately, who is responsible for losing a roster spot to another kid from another club?

Hmm, i dont know, all of the foolish parents presume where they are is not good enough, so they take their kid to Oakwood. Said, untrained buffoon, userps a spot from a lifer and OW gets rewarded for poor development while smaller clubs keep losing the talent they train to an aggregator. Maybe this is why we can't compete on the world stage.

What ulittle team has kids from MA and RI? And don't say girls teams because we were talking about boys and DA.
