Originally posted by Unregistered View PostTheir trips and hidden costs add up quickly and surpass even ecnl by a great deal, even with the greatly diminished up-front dues reduction!
The # of tournaments and travel distance are the same except that ECNL plays 2 games every weekend so the away (not all, but most) weekends require hotel stays. "How" you travel can greatly influence the cost. ( bus? 5 star hotels?) On the other hand, ECNL doesn't have to sell raffle tickets, so that might be a draw for you West Hartford folk.
Any serious soccer/family should budget an extra $5k into their yearly budget on top of club fees.

They also like to "travel as a team" .... they pick the accommodations and flights that are convenient .... not reasonable usually. Listen, if you don't mind paying for it, fine, just don't try to hide the real cost of DA soccer .... it dwarfs everything else and it is certainly not $2700 or anything close to that at U14-U16).
