    Some yes, most no.

      FSA isn't in DA either

There are also options across the NY border. NYCFC, FCW, World Class and NYSC. All easier to reach than Oakwood or FSA from FC
Yep. Lots of great choices. For us, the choice was not to travel to Greenwich or NY at this point. As he gets older, if he is good enough and wants to play for a team that requires much more commitment, we will address it then.

From my experience the kit is almost always an extra. There maybe a few exceptions. Some require practice wear too

Oakwood includes uniforms in their fees. They have their fees enumerated in the back. They also require fundraising and camps too

Like someone said it doesn't matter at the younger ages. In fact most DA clubs have incredible churn rates and boot out plenty of their own players and fill spots with players trained outside their own clubs. Many kids in the system at U12 are hardly there by U16. Heck in general many 11 year olds aren't even playing soccer by HS because they focus on other sports.

So with BS you're paying top dollar, and more so than ever not necessarily getting the best coaching (Pythons coaching....come on). There's lots of other options out there for both North and South families to consider for younger players. If your kid is good and has the drive to succeed (something now club can teach them) then they will find their own path, and that path doesn't have to be the most expensive

You make a great point. A lot of the DAPs create the illusion that if you are in their system at an early age you have an inside edge. Or that they don't take outsiders. This doesn't always hold water. At about 12-16, there's a tremendous churn. Some leave voluntarily to go up or down a level. Others are cut. Furthermore the clubs are alaways looking to improve their club and the easiest way to do that is bring in outsiders

The key at the younger ages is to focus on development and ensure that your child enjoys soccer.

Which is the better branch? North or south?

This is the first year BS has utilized this process so time will tell. I suspect that the South will be better as its traditional BS territory and will get the better of the coaching, attention and resources. However, the North trainers in the past produced some skillled teams at Pythons

The Pythons guys found a nice little untapped market on the shoreline and milked it. Training less skilled suburban kids whose parents are paying top $ is another story.

                    Perhaps you are right

It will be interesting to see how North and South fare with vastly different coaching methods and philosophies

Grudge much and do care , AZ shagged my wife and she's never been the same since.

Regardless of which team ends up better the new format is a huge improvement over the pooled teams previously done. It was a complete mess

Teams and leagues don't develop players. Too many people think the jersey their kid wears guarantees development. Coaches and players themselves develop players. All the rest is just noise.

What is the deal with BS and its facility? In the works or dead in the water?
