JM was the 07 South coach. He was one of the coaches along with AZ of the 3 team pool they tried to do last year.

As for development... the thing BS parents will rarely admit is they also pay a FORTUNE for supplemental training. We know plenty of families on 08 and 07 - both North and South and it seems all do training outside of BS. Last year there were tons of kids doing clinics, futsal, group lessons, and 1on1 at Ole, Everton, RedBulls, etc. I believe despite the double roster rule, there were kids on Ole, Revolution, and Chelsea Piers teams. Of course double rostering does not apply to Omar - North team ALL played on Omar's team this winter. A bunch of kids do PDP and at least one does ODP in an older group. I also heard two different groups of parents chipped in to get a private coach for small group lessons. One of the groups used Omar's facility, so I guess that was fine with MK.

Some of the better kids definitely spend a ton on supplemental. The South kid who got pulled to join the 06 Academy played Ole and did indoor tournaments with a "pick up team" all winter. Several kids have private coaches they have used before BS and still use.

I guess if your $4k only buys your 3 hours of Rondo/week, you need to spend a few more thousand to actually develop skills.

This is spot on. Zero skills development at BS.

Ex BS parent here. Finally someone got it right.

We left because we could not accept having to pay for additional training. We had no idea when we joined that everyone would do so much training outside of the program. Sure there were a couple of very gifted kids and a few who spent hours in their yard by themselves or with a sibling. That's perfectly fine. But as the year progressed, we kept hearing more and more about the additional training. Nobody really talked about it but you pick up someone mentioning a training session on Fri night or how their kid got injured in a game or how they had to reschedule their coach. Midway through the season, my son asked me if he could get a private coach like some of his teammates. The kids weren't shy about telling each other about their coaches.

Funny reading this because some of the kids you’re talking about use a coach that left BS about two years ago for supplemental training. There’s a story behind why he left but is it apparent that coaches on staff are not as strong as those that have left and are still leaving .

BEachside is toast ...,the revolt has been going on for years , word gets around and many kids are the younger siblings of former disgruntled players with Parents giving it a second round to see if it was a mistake before.

MK and gang are complete morons, there’s no Pro or D1 goal at Beachside that can’t be attained elsewhere , any kid can make it without the silly rules they invoke in fact kids will do better without the stupid BSC 10 commandments. MK is an old farted Greek who colors his hair and balls.

              Yeah I said it.

Beachside used to be known for great training. What happened? Where are the talented former BS coaches working now?

What do you mean rarely admit? First off, if you have ever been to a PDP practice you will see players from many different clubs including BS. None of the parents are hiding this. Yes, they do participate in other events/tournaments/practices but it is not hush hush.

DA players aren't supposed to participate in any non DA training or games without permission, including PDP. Rediculous that all these players are trying to keep up with training Jones' . Let me guess, they're hiring BS coaches?

Mickey says no to PDP training. No exceptions. Who's breaking the rules??

Hold on, I’ll type up the list of players for you. Alphabetically ok? Or do you prefer by birth year?

OP didn't say "hiding" but merely not talking about it. PDP is not something easy to hide but not something advertised because MK has been very clear about how he feels about it. The other tournaments/practices are also hard to hide but not something anyone is announcing on the sidelines. The private coaching is a bit easier to hide, but as someone pointed out, several families are using the same coach.

The general point is not that its top secret... the point was that for a $4k club to have so many people seeking coaching is a sign of a big problem.

It is, and having so many leave is not good. But it's also representative of the BS clientele - foolish parents who think if they spend enough their kid will turn into an elite player.
