Get a set of coaches that can coach and the teams will look better than the basement

Good players want good coaches and teammates. Just being in a better league isn't enough for many

Its a tough cycle to get out from. Boys dont want to go because the team isnt good enough to compete in the league. But if none of those boys take the leap, then the teams cant ever improve. Yes, coaching is part of it, but if the roster is appropriate for the league, then that takes care of alot.

I get what you are saying. But what kid that thinks they are hot shti doesn't want to take the chance to grab a starting spot and play against the best in the region? There are enough nuts dads out there that are trying to create a pro player that should recognize that opportunity, even if its not a practical goal/move.

OW is a terrible brand of soccer. They kick the ball to the one skilled and fast kid. The rest are there as cones and paychecks. U/13 and U/12 kids wouldn’t even make other top teams. A bunch of travel kids.

If you have a roster of kids that should be playing that that level, they won't be playing from behind and wont resort to route 1.

u13 is the most successful MLSN group at OW right now.

                u12 is little kids.

Ok have you ever seen an OW practice or game. From your comments you obviously haven't OW practices are 80% scrimmage where the coach literally does no coaching. They spend 0 time "coaching" the teams how to connect passes or why that would even be important. Ever seen a rondo at a ow practice? Nope me either. Buddy, the reason why they kick it to the striker is that's all they've been taught. Why do you think everyone on here is crushing the coaching. It's abhysmal.

How much talent do you think this small state actually has? Not that much.

Several things have hurt OW. The aforementioned poor coaching/lack of owner interest is definitely one. Another is when BDA broke up MLSN became even more about the pro clubs vs all the rest. Turns out some teams in the B bracket aren't that much better than some ECNL and other league teams. Families/players started questioning if it's worth it when there isn't much scholarship $ at stake or even spots in D1.

                        .
Which is crazy considering their u13s have lost 5 of their better 6 or 7 kids to CFC and FSA over the last 2 years. And in fact lost at least 1 of the remaining 2 to HA… for 2 weeks until HA imploded and he scurried back.

both ECNL sides at that age would wreck OW.

if OW was moderately competitive, the ECNL teams would be mid at best. The kids from Farmington, WH, Glastonbury want to play HS. And they have no illusions of going pro.

So make my cool kid a cash offer to transfer. We will not accept stones from the parking lot as payment.

They play too direct and rely purely on individual skill. That’s easy to shutdown.

Rondo begs to differ. He doesn’t know anyone at OW from any age.

Really? Because you could go a whole game and not see the team connect 2 passes in a row. Ow is living in 1983
