So then leave - it seems you've already made up your mind. Like the poster said that doesn't mean it's a good place for your kid to play and yes it's another place to set your cash on fire

and btw you've now ID'd your kid your kid to the OW 09 staff.

crap college placements too. A once good club has gone down the toilet.

not too good in a watered down Girls Academy League

Ow falls apart once their 05 class graduates. Their boys teams weren't barn burners but did decently well enough - but not any longer

there's OW kids that have recently moved to sporting. That's all that needs to be said about OW.

OW boys teams are actually pretty good. Their records and GF/GA is more a function of playing much better competition than the ECNL clubs. If a kid is solid and has a terrible HS program, it's still a good place to be.

The failure is the club is actually a product of the unique field setup used in their lower levels. The black lines on the 9 v 9 fields to make two 7 v 7 fields are impossible to see which leads to lax refereeing including abandonment of observing the buildout line which is intended to teach key skills at these levels. The kids in turn learn that a full deep press is their key to winning in the early years when other teams struggle with buildouts when players are perched on the edge of the penalty area and do not have leg to play a long ball past the press. As the team progresses to 11 v 11 quite a few of the same team members and tactics exist, but the competition now has the tools to beat the press and does. OW should do themselves a favor and repaint the 7 v 7 field with yellow lines so these kids do not pick up bad habits. Winning with the deep press is fun, but ultimately meaningless in the early years. But the situation leaves them without the tools to win games later on.

Wow. That is just nuts. Lol. Ulittle soccer is irrelevant. You will learn one day. You need to consolidate talent from
other clubs. Until oakwood and fsa learn that nothing will change. You I can’t train your own ulittle
team into a top team without adding.

How in the world is Oakwood that bad now? I am shocked to see those records. The GA has a couple decent teams but come on man no way Oakwood dhould be that bad

this is the sad state of the soccer landscape in CT. Rather than the caliber of play rising with year round training and stronger competition - the market is flooded with mediocrity. The most talented youth athletes are also NOT playing soccer. Business model is severely flawed!

What’s with Oakwood always promoting this mediocre U-9 girl on social media? CFC doesn’t even promote the older sister but Oakwood seems to be constantly posting videos of her beating on travel teams.

It’s the crazy dad. He’s a nut job. His kid left ow last year to go to cfc where she finally made United but now rides the pine. So he’s now promoting the other one even though she’s already practicing with cfc and will be leaving shortly. The dad runs the social media for ow. That’s why he’s pimping his kids out. It’s quite weird and not good for the ow brand.
