Yes - so more equivalent to FSAOriginally posted by Guest View Post
Yes if you're going to do MLS make sure it's a top club. obviously pro is better but this state sends few kids to the pro clubs. OW and BS used to be better clubs but now they're beyond mediocre. Cost, time and giving up may not be worth winding up at many of the same places as players from elsewhere

Ok. All the kids in OW and FSA are going pro. This is why everyone is sending their kids to these clubs. Because playing professionally (not because possibly good training for kids, providing a good opportunity for your kid, and maybe the kid likes his team) is really the ONLY goal in all of this. This is sound advice! I was really upset with my older kid because he went to Loomis and he didn't become a doctor. He's such a failure... can't stand that. Sucks to be a parent.

If you're going to play at BS and OW you should at least consider ohther options. BS and OW used to be quality clubs but they just aren't any longer. There's tremendous costs, not just $ and time, but giving up HS soccer too. Yeah yeah I know some HS programs are crap but not all are, and many kids would prefer to play. Top starter at a better MLSN club is more worthwhile but neither CT club is that. And face it, not everyones kids are top starters.

Even among those good enough to make Red Bulls, Revs etc, the vast majority aren't going pro either. Even in a great year there might be two. The rest will play for solid college programs (if they go to college) and find careers.
