Shirts and skins hoop game last night. Shirts dominated. Expect their parents to be out bragging today over it.

I figured I’d see some OW 05 parents with excuses here. Agreed OW played a bit more aggressive in that game only because this was a rematch OW requested from a previous tie earlier in the year where FSA 05 was more dominant. Even if you had your two “top” players the results would have remained the same. In this rematch, again requested by OW, FSA had 4 of their 5 forwards missing. It says a lot about GA if the “national champs” can’t win, even when trying, against a team that is usually bottom third of ECNL standings. That OW team is but just not as good as they think they are.

Sounds like they were COViD champs for sure.

That's arguably the most important age group in club soccer .... goes to show you how weak GAL really is.

This is the most useless age group for soccer. Almost everyone is committed and are playing like they don't want to get hurt. Will miss trainings and games since they know this is their last chance before HS ends. Those that aren't committed are wondering why they are still bothering. Rosters are bloated to cover for this.

But, you know, make it about GAL.

In a real game, OW wipes the floor with FSA 9/10 times. My kid has played them both (years in GAL before the last couple in ECNL). No comparison between the two clubs.

I'll let those with agendas take over now since you obviously wouldn't dare listen to someone with no stake in the game.

BTW, my kids were skiing this weekend and one beat the other down. We were declared her the winner, got a free meal, and no chores when they got home. The loser, and she is a loser, had to carry both sets of skis to the car, double the chores, and had no dinner that night.

                    This stuff matters.

Nope, you're wrong. That was those kids junior year season. Almost none of them committed before that. Unless you are a NT player and commit basically verbally commit in utero, this is the year for 99% of players at D1 schools #50-404 and the D2s. Sorry, you're entirely wrong. BTW, seems like they played twice in the last year or so and both resulted in draws. Again, sorry, but if such a world class team doesnt have enough pride to play well and beat a local rival in the better league, then that speaks even more volumes about the players and team.

"In a real game, OW wipes the floor with FSA 9/10 times. " .... every game is a real game except the ones the kids lose ... then its a showcase, its a friendly, our two best players left, ok two starters, but our two top players came out for the last 10 minutes, our new subs couldnt handle it, we had proms and dentists appointments ...... excuses, excuses, excuses. The GAL champion is 0-0-2 against one of the absolute worst teams in ECNL head-to-head. Not another word, paper tiger!

I have some bad news for you if you are an 05....you missed the boat. Seriously. All the money is gone, coaches aren't looking at you any longer and they've moved to the next group, and the group beyond that. If it's spring of your senior year and you aren't committed, this just ain't your thing.

And, sorry, my eyes from watching each team play multiple times over the last 6 years tells me different. Cal me names all you want, no real skin in the game, but still will mock the lead duck sprouting friendly results....

Has anyone ever changed their mind about clubs, coaches, players, etc. after listening/seeing grown men argue about club soccer?

lots of d1 deals happen early in senior year and most d3 kids decide later in senior year. So your opinion is useless. Yes the top studs sign junior year and likely get much more money. But the bulk of the kids who actually end up playing in college decide during senior year. And yes i know most don't get much or any athletic money. very few kids are in this for athletic money.

"lots"? Not so many and by then it's mostly filler spots, little to no money. Same with D3s. Coaches want players to apply ED or EA and those applications are due around Nov 1.

Keep telling yourself you have plenty of time. Seriously, wait another few months. I strongly encourage it.
