FSA and CFC were sold to Russian oligarchs. If you accept a spot there, they will send you to Ukraine to fight for Russia.

You say the same thing every year. It starts to get old...

What is the point of being so mysterious of an anonymous board? if you know, spill it. Unmask the mystery man from virginia!

Two of four qualified for Next flex this weekend, so not really fodder.

The older they get, the weaker they get, right? Because the real Academies are scoring the region's top players - or even taking from OW.

              In other words, fodder.

Look, it's a good option for top players. MLSN will get you the best competition in front of the best people. No doubt. But lots of kids really want to play HS because they have friends in HS. To each their own.

Agreed, there are plenty of equally top or better players in ECNL than Academy soccer. With all the showcases, most kids choose ECNL now a days, with no real difference between the 2 aside you get to play in high school and play with all your local friends.

They are being mysterious because the group buying it could move the MLSnext badge to a different area of New England. Example NEFC likely would shift the full age range badge to Mass and swap the partial in down in CT.

Great reason to lock everyone in now and create a headache to leave after competing club rosters are nailed down.

MLSNext Academies are far superior in talent than ENCL. Keep thinking otherwise to make yourself feel better. Don't let reality get in the way.

Generally it is true, but connecticut is a weird state with no MLSNext Pro team affiliated academy. Both OW and Beachside don't have pro team affiliation.

And neither OW or BS is very good in the league, both not well run. Players have to pick a club within a local area so it's a "pick the best of the worst" situation. If you really want to play HS or aren't aspiring to high level college soccer then for boys ECNL might make sense locally. There are far fewer D1 mens college spots, even less money. We send very few to higher D1 programs and the region just isnt very strong vs nationally. There's lots of good D3s in the region and most kids going a half days drive from home. Plenty of families are ok with that.

well, yeah. OW Boys U11-U19 have like 5 wins among them and a combined GD of -100.

With travel miles in the 10's of thousands. And then if a kid is great at OW, the Revs take him. (Which, if it works for the family, great! But OW gets nothing from that transaction at all except worse.)

I see that the 2007 OW girls are 1 win in 12 games with a -18 goal difference in their GA division. I bet there's 6 to 8 teams in CT that crush them. The allure at OW is over. Stick a fork in them
