So many parents just like the stroke of their ego, the acknowledgment of their superior genetics having created such an amazing soccer player who must play older kids as her peers offer no challenge. It is almost always weak and insecure moms and dads who push this stuff or who let their kids be used by the club, with the players actual benefit well down the list of reasons why it happens.

We were at a club years ago that basically played up anyone that asked. We didn't stay long as it became such a joke.

It's very rare that a player should play up a year. A better solution is to find a stronger age appropriate team.

Doesn't matter ..... None of those 6 or 7 2007s ever played age appropriate. They all left (NY, NJ, MA, and CT). Serves oakwood right for letting their parents do whatever they wanted too ..... this only fueled their madness about how great their little princesses were. As soon as they could they all picked up and left.

And CFC told them no on playing up lol, because as discussed its rarely justified.

LOL, ever look at a "Soccer Parent" facebook group? Every other post is this. "My 9 year old playing with the U13's! #Blessed". Meanwhile, it's some team of farm kids in nebraska who are awful. Cracks me up.

They do it a lot with the younger players, too often in fact so that it gets them into trouble with the teams they're pulling up from. Playing up is rarely called for. Nothing justifies half a dozen playing up which has happened there.
