So, what's your point? Club team should always come first. If not, why even try out for it?

QUOTE=Unregistered;1375062]You mean like parents honor this commitment?

I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, game officials, and administrators at all times.
 I will place the emotional and physical well being of all players ahead of any personal desire to win.
 I will support the coaches, officials, and administrators working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
 I will remember that the game is for the players, not for the adults.
 I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, game officials, administrators, and fans
    with respect.
 I will always be positive.
 I will always allow the coach to be the only coach.
 I will not get into arguments with the opposing team’s parents, players, or coaches.
 I will not come onto the field for any reason during the game.
 I will not criticize game officials.
 I shall not possess, consume or distribute before, during or after any game or at any other
time at the field and/or game complex alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs or unauthorized
    prescription drugs.
 I will refrain from any activity or conduct that may be detrimental or reflect adversely
upon FYSA, its members or its programs.[/QUOTE]

If your kid is good let them play both. If they are a play maker the coaches of both will overlook missed practices.

Most elite clubs would lose to a major high school soccer team. The clubs just do not the large player pool that high schools have. There are many reasons clubs stop playing during high school season. One reason may be that they do not want to be embrasses by losing badly to junior varsity teams in scrimmages.

You say to make your kids keep their commitments while you act like a fool at games and then come on to this site to act like a fool some more.

Dumbest comment I think I have heard on ts. Stop trying to preach for the HS. Their is no comparison to club .Yes a vlub fears a get together high school team. And college recruiters bang down HS coaches doors over clubs to! Cars run on water now as well.

Again, one has nothing to do with the other. Hypocrisy might be your issue, not mine

you know its the HS beats soccer dad at it again. he is a lost cause. recruiters at HS? joke. Our very large HS team, made up of club players won districts then regionals. was historic. nothing and no one came to HS to recruit (could it have been due to coach, no one will ever know). those same HS sr players all committed to play DI ball in college and it was all due to being recruited through exposure at their respective clubs. Had nothing whatsoever to do with HS. The HS actually had the opportunity to get some exposure BECAUSE of these kids but they didn't even use it. Last Feb 5 when the kids signed they had a little event at HS but the school didn't even bother to get it in the newspaper. largest group of seniors to sign - HS is what it is. Coaches get paid to do a job ie play games; recruiting is overtime and they don't put in for it. At club level they do.

This sounds more like it. The players are at their balance limit with school soccer, club, studies and social life. Do not know how they find time to apply and market themselves to get into a college their soccer program.

                            School Soccer

I guess it must have been the moderators idea to start a separate high school forum. The thread to leave high school posts on the FL Forum got moved there.
