Unfortunately we only see the results and level of competion of the games and don't understand the value of good training in helping the kids to develop as players. I guess bashing them is easier than giving them credit for what they have accomplished.
As told by the AHD dad. Look, guy, there's alot of truth to AHD having a good young team, but its still only HS soccer and lets face it, 90% of the teams we ALL face are terrible. So lets not get too puffed up about winning or losing in HS. If your darling wins State cup club soccer, then please puff and shout all you want, but HS.?....Sorry. Glad they had fun is all HS should be about anyways. cheers

      You are wrong

I just want to say that club soccer is easy. Yes you heard what I said easy. In club you get to pick what coach you have and what players you play with. If you are playing on an elite club team winning state comes down to beating one or two other strong teams. How is that any different from the competition faced in high school where you don’t get to handpick your surroundings?

Good Point but not when making a case for AHD or AHP

True. Seeing a lot of both HS and club soccer the club elitests can't say that the top 4-8 HS teams in most classes are slouches. True that most HS schedules include some horrible competition, but there is still cream at the top.

Congratulations on another good season Coach Steve and the entire American Heritage-Delray team. I look forward to next year watching your awesome group of young players dominate! Congratulations to St Johns - State Champs. In my opinion, your team can easily beat any 6A school, even the 6A State Champions!

This poster is obivously from AH. So lets tell the truth about AH, they recruit all of their players so don't tell anybody on this forum that AH doesn't pick their players. BS. Any mediocre u-15 or u-16 club team in the state could beat any of the top HS teams.....PERIOD!!!!!

The best comp in the state is Club soccer. All of the players from St. Johns were TOP club players on TOP club teams. Thats why The Johnies whooped AHD. Get a grip

                  Sean

They may have good soccer, but their education is horrible. It is the school of choice when your kid gets kicked out of good private schools.

I was referring to the poster that says...."club soccer is easy". I haven't got a problem with ANY team picking their players or coaches. If your good enough, i guess you will play. But most HS's only have a few club players on their roster and thats why HS sux. But at AHD, one must go around crowing how great they are when they don't play anybody and when they finally did play somebody, they got whooped. I spoke with one of the AHD parents and he told me only a few of their players actually play for premier teams. They why all of the crowing all year???? HS should be fun without all of the puffyness, but leave it to the S.Florida to muck it up.

Recruitment happens at 6, 7, 8th grade before FHSAA has any control, the perfect example is AHP, where many boys and their families are offered a deal they can't turn down, a free private school education and promises of the the overated HS Championship "RING". Most parents pay a small sum, such as washing windows. The recruiters are club coaches, who get same for for their kids who otherwise wouldn't qualify for deal

I guess that would help at homecoming.
Why pick at 2A or 3A schools? Many 2A or 3A schools play outside their school size during the season to get competition and do very well. Douglas 6A had at least 2 or 3 8-0 games this year alone. What is stupid is your comment. Do some research and get some facts straight before you open your 'stupid' mouth.

They play no one all year and now when they finally played a decent team they got their butts wipped. This is why 2A is such a joke. They play Middle school teams all year and when they have to play a real team they get killed. The St. Johns team I hear is the real deal Could probably beat 4 or 5A teams. AH Delray is just a pretender!
This sounds like a gloating immature teenager. You should stay in school and learn how to spell (wipped). Focus on your academics. Its funny that you don't mention 6A teams in your diatribe because St. John's is arguably the best team of ANY of the final four schools - so that must include your school too. Unlike any of the other teams in the final four, St. John's would NEVER do any recruiting (LOL). I believe most of the Douglas (Parkland) players live in Coral SPrings, a different city.
