The mouths of some parents at East Bay is a problem. It is too bad but the lack of knowledge of the game and the screaming at refs is very bad. I am sure that most of the parents are decent people but instead of arguing on this site, listen at the next game and try to control the ones that are off the wall. I am not trying to bash the East Bay people, I am truely being honest. It is unfortunate but in many cases a few bad apples make you all look bad.
OK. I admit it. I am one of the loud EB parents. Every year I make a resolution to behave but something just comes over me. Bad calls by the ref, the fact that we are winning or losing, stress release or just plain obnoxiousness. After watching the first round of Districts on Tuesday and listening to the quiet amongst the other parents, (except when obvious calls were missed by the ref), I realized that yeah, I guess we are out of control. I (hopefully all) will be on my best behavior this evening and for the rest of the season. You will still here the "Way to go's" and "Good Jobs" but the negative comments (cross your fingers) against the referees will be kept to a minimum. Sometimes they are just reactions. With that being said, let's end this post. It has gone on way too long
Good luck to the remaining four teams. Play hard, play clean and pray for good referees!

Very well said. Good luck to your team. Just remember, there is never a point at which we cannot learn something. You might find you will enjoy the game more!
isnt riverview the one with the really good goal scorere? was the "sarasota" team a lot better or were those teams really close... and are the high schools close where they get kids that go back and forth like they do at some places because they "can"

Bloomingdale has the good goal scorer and Sarasota was pretty flat most of the game.
Just wanted to tell the EB parent who confessed to being a reformed obnoxious parent congratulations, and maybe you could give lessons in humility to Newsome parents who are without a doubt THE most obnoxious people on the planet. Good luck in your game tonight EB.

Yes, Newsome parents are extremely obnoxious. Go Bloomingdale!
I was at the game and I must say that the East Bay parents showed class this evening. Of course its hard to complain when you are winning by a goal or 2. Much different then the night before.
I was also at the East Bay-Riverview game the night before and they were not as well behaved.
My Congrats to East Bay as well, I thought last nights game was a pretty dominant performance - great defense and relentless pressure up front - nicely done.
A few observation comments as I too was at the Riverview game the night before. I have to disagree with you about parental behavoir. The officiating in that game was the worst I have seen all year - BY FAR. They even make the mistake during the PK's by calling the game over before it was over, and then telling the kids it wasn't, and put both teams in an emotional roller coaster, unfair to both teams!
As far as my observations - I thought the Riverview parents were just as vocal, if not more so, as the EB side and all directed at officiating. I think the school students were the ones really wound up, not the parents, and that is true at ANY game in any county on any night. I have to agree with a comment days before in this thread that officiating is normally what sets off a crowd.
Enough about the parents - this is getting really old already. Someone must really not like one of them to keep this thread going this long on this subject. There have been some pretty blatent (PERSONAL) comments about materialist things like houses and boats and economics that have absoultely nothing to do with soccer. Sounds like someone doesn't like someone and is using ALL the parents as a excuse. Someone needs to end this thread as it is not accomplishing anything other than one on one verbal warfare.
I personal ask that if this thread continues that it simply talks about the kids and the teams, and games, THANKS!

Well said. Lets talk soccer. What about their next match? They play a runner up so they should be ok
