yes tampa prep is only a 2a school, but they do not just play their "easy" teams. they schedule harder, higher classification teams so they can do well in the playoffs. thats what GOOD teams do. they play harder teams so when playoff time comes their competition wont be as hard as an average team.

as for colby maffei - considering shes a freshman starting on a state championship team - which is not a fluke they won.
so lets review: freshman, starting on a state championship team, scoring a hat trick in their last game against a team from jacksonville, and she has great speed as well as a hard shot. shooting from the top of the left box and hitting the far right bottom corner id say is a pretty nice shot.

therefore - she is a 14 yr old girl starting on a state championship soccer and is one of their leading scorers. ya shes pretty damn good.

Last year they were the state champs, not this year. If they win this year, maybe you will have something to brag about.

Bragging, you should see that a ninth grader lead Wellington to the 6A state Title, also look at freshman from Oviedo that were playing. Be happy but you are far from special!! If she leads them to title this year then you have cause for boasting. HS teams change year after year!! Look down at AH-Delray they have 2 8th graders starting with 4 freshman, those kids are phenoms. Don't get ahead of yourself and please keep names off here it is for your own good, FYI.
AH-Delray has 2 8th graders and 4 freshman in their starting lineup. Yeah right, and my daughter will be the next Mia Hamm on the US National Team. There is no way a high school team is going to start six (6) 14 year olds and younger, and have a winning record. I know of only 1 8th graders (MF) and 1 Freshman (TP) so get your facts straight.

Thanks DAD!!!! Please post a copy of your schedule so we can all see who these teams are. Also NEVER post a childs name on this website! Are you crazy!
Still waiting on that schedule you were bragging about.

Also AH-Plantation has 3 --9th graders starting and an 8th grader in Goal. Tell your little Mia to keep practicing, don't forget use both feet !!!!

As for colby she is a great play so please get off her back! she can shot on frame and with power with both feet and she can take on four players without a problem to finish a goals so she is clearly a great player! Right now she is better than anyone in state i believe! she is a FRESHMEN STARTING on a STATE CHAMPS team and she is the leading goal scorer averaging about 3 goals a game! the team have suffered many injuries including a great loss up top and colby as a freshman have put those duties on her back! So please be like chris brown and get like her....lets go!

And for Destin he is a great player with great speed on the ball and very good vision for the game.He also has a very good shot that he seems to have problems pulling the trigger sometimes. But yes he can use work but by his senior year he will be one of the best in the state mark my words!
FYI Destin plays up a year in club and is the captain of that club team of a RSL Florida U17 so maybe you should get your facts right before you call him an "average club player''.

Heritage recruits those players which is against the FHSAA rules. Just because they call them "academic" scholarships does not make it right. Most of those girls you mention play for the AHDelray coach's club team. Of course they will start!

So based on what you said if your team would not have had these injuries would she still be starting. And I know 4 players that I know she would not get through and get a shot on frame. Since you can come on here and give us all this info please give us your schedule and results to prove your point, so we can see the great teams she is scoring all these goals against. Also again you should not post names on this website.
Don't forget to post the schedule and results!

There are many strong Freshman players in the South Region: Take a look at the Region III 94 list on the Thanksgiving ODP thread. There you have it. No one is saying that she isn't good, but we have quite a few good, if not better players down south.

Just as I thought racking up goals against crappy teams. There are plenty of freshman players around that could score lots of goals against these teams. Try doing that in 6A. I am sure she is a good player but someones self promotion of their daughter is not warranted. Don't worry though if she racks up alot of goals the Trib will write articles because it is Tampa Prep. Her stats only show her with 5 goals in 4 games, is this some type of new math. I thought 3 x 4 = 12, Oh well, I didn't go to Tampa Prep I wouldn't understand.
