    Dunedin??????? Really??????? What happened???????
Alright lets not start the Rah Rah Rah for Dunedin on this forum as well.
Whoa! Hold the party bus up a second!! Don't let the trash talking from the Dunedin Club elsewhere on this forum taint the Dunedin High School name. There are two totally seperate issues here.

I am hoping that DHS girls will be strong this season, and appreciate the vote of confidence posted above. However, I know that the team has a BIG challenge ahead in East Lake and Palm Harbor, not to mention others. Any win over either of these teams will be considered an upset by ANYONE. We are lucky to have a very competitive group in the north Pinellas girls soccer.

My prediction for the top three teams in the District will be PHUHS, East Lake and Dunedin. Dunedin has hopes to finish in the top two, but we will have to play the games and see. I'll never count any of these teams out, or have expectations to beat them just because someone here says so.[/quote:279w43ej]You should have ignored the Rah Rah post. That poster wasn't paying attention to the fact that this was a discusion about girls. The trash talking on the other forum is all on the boy's side. One has nothing to do with the other.

How about some initials on the freshman? They have 6 or 7 freshman on the team.

The freshmen will get beat up by the upper classmen they play against. It will be a rebuilding year for PHU.

I thought this was about politics. What politics are we talking about. Is it that Coaches are taking their club players over better players?

The politics subject died quickly because it was stupid to begin with. Probably just some Daddy who's little darling didn't make the team. Seriously, if a good club player can't make their HS varsity team they are not very good club players. Girls HS is so weak that a club coach can't afford to let one good player slip by. There is always plenty of room for all the good players and players from politics, if there is any politics.

I'm confused. You start out casting doubt that there are any politics at work in the HS tryouts, and made some good points to support that. Then you say there is plenty of room for the players who honestly made the team and those that may have made it through politics. Are "Politics" like the elusive chuppacabra, everyones heard of its existence, but no one has ever seen it.

I took the last line about politics to be written with some sarcasm toward the existence of politics. Meaning, even if there were politics, there is still more than enough room for every good player.

Trust me there is politics. You see it all the time. A coach will take his club players and play them over other club players. The worse one is when they threaten a kid if they don't come and play for their club they will not see playing time in HS.
This is why in many other states, if you coach on the girls side in club you can only coach the boys in HS. I think that probably would be a good rule to pass if Florida.

That rule used to exist in Florida but is no longer valid.

They should put the rule back in then.

                                Pre-season scores:

                                Countryside 1 - Tarpon 1
                                Eastlake 3 - Palm Harbor 3

                                Eastlake 1 - Tarpon 1
                                Countryside 2 - Palm Harbor 1

Maybe there should be more talk about Countryside and Tarpon than Eastlake and Palm Harbor. Palm Harbor off to a rough start basically losing the pre-season tournament
