What difference does it make??
Looking at Girls final four I saw the following teams:
6A all Public Schools
5A all Public Schools
4A all Public Schools
3A all Private Schools
2A all Private Schools
Very few 2-3A public schools and very few 4-6A private schools, so why the fuss??

Come to my school and you will have a chance... Oh you can't come to this school because you don't live in this district.

Sure some folks simply have the $$$ and just chose private over public, but many, many families that don't have the 10-15K for a private HS education take advantage of the "academic" scholarship opportunities and have their kids bussed or drive them 10, 20, 30 miles away to a private school. The one curious element here is how every good soccer, football, basketball, tennis, etc, etc player who can't afford the private school fees just happen to also be smart enough to earn that "academic" scholarship, it is almost miraculous how that happens.

Bottom line is a 3A public school competes on uneven ground with a 3A private school.
The 3A public school has school district lines that keep them from adding players.
The private school can add who ever they need to add to their team.
