      What difference does it make??

Looking at Girls final four I saw the following teams:
      6A all Public Schools
      5A all Public Schools
      4A all Public Schools
      3A all Private Schools
      2A all Private Schools

Very few 2-3A public schools and very few 4-6A private schools, so why the fuss??

Sound like the thread is heading towards the equal playing field discussion.

Come to my school and you will have a chance... Oh you can't come to this school because you don't live in this district.

Wait .. I am a private school, you don't have to live in my district. If you are a home schooler that is even better.

Lets just face it, private (mainly 2A and 3A) schools will continue to keep top players from playing for the public (4A, 5A & 6A) schools that they are zoned for by address, it is called reality. Sure some folks simply have the $$$ and just chose private over public, but many, many families that don't have the 10-15K for a private HS education take advantage of the "academic" scholarship opportunities and have their kids bussed or drive them 10, 20, 30 miles away to a private school. The one curious element here is how every good soccer, football, basketball, tennis, etc, etc player who can't afford the private school fees just happen to also be smart enough to earn that "academic" scholarship, it is almost miraculous how that happens.

Why not include "religious based" schools in your equation? You apparently have a bone to pick, so - let's pick it. Religious based schools have "financial aid, chuch based fellowship scholarship offers, soccer coaches that pay for certain players, or - best yet - players who have parents who don't pay all year - then have "money put into their account by an unnamed source". That last one is my favorite

Bottom line is a 3A public school competes on uneven ground with a 3A private school.
The 3A public school has school district lines that keep them from adding players.
The private school can add who ever they need to add to their team.

You are correct. However, many schools have players (religious based, public, private) that have an assortment of students. If you go to public school - just use your mother's address (even if you live with your father) to go to a school outside of your distict. Religious - just apply, and state a religious affiliation, get good grades - and receive scholarship offer. Private - same thing - apply, prove financial need and get good grades.
