True that. I feel sorry for any Revs homegrowns. I was just looking at ZH's stats and over that past FOUR years since signing as a homegrown; he's played just 10 games with the Revs (5 of which he was subbed in with less than 5 minutes of playing time). He played 5 games on loan with USL San Antonio and is now on loan with Heaps and Soehn in Birmingham. Just seems like a lot of time gone by with very little playing time, so I'm not sure how they think he's supposed to be developing. Hopefully, things will turn around for him this year, but you wonder whether he would have developed more playing at Providence, at least for a couple of years.

It'll be interesting to see if these new homegrowns will do any better, but I'm not optimistic about it if the Revs aren't willing to give them significant first team minutes right away. If they aren't, they should loan them out now to a USL team that will actually play them so they aren't languishing away on the bench. Scotty played 29 games the year he signed his HG contract. Diego played in just 6 games his first year, but was only 15 yrs old, and by the second season, he played 20 games. Huge difference from the way they are "developing" ZH. IA was injured most of last year, so we'll have to see if he fares better this year.

The same ole story. Get rid of players and replace them with high school studs. JM and JA were the Rev stars a few years back and now....

This does not happen at other academies.

All three allow kids to play HS (Bolts via waivers), have multiple ISL players (do Revs have any?), and all three work with families to make it work financially. As a result, few have been interested in Revs--everyone knows their system and coaching is a mess, that the organization is an overall disaster, and that their college matriculations are not strong. The real question is why anyone outside of greater Foxboro would bother with them.

I don't know about hilarious but it is certainly strange that until today they were listed as 'non-rostered' in the Montreal game report. So the question was legit. And it also tells you that a jealous U19 parent most likely made the post about them playing.

What a sad organization. Revs played both Angking and Firmino 90 minutes against Montreal. Pathetic, smoke screen MLS Academy system.

For anyone keeping score, MOntreal had 8 national team players start against the U17s. We only saw the latter part of the first half but that team was on par with a real European academy. FOr the Bolts crows, they played a totally different lineup the day before.
