If the temperatures are above 105, it is unsafe for kids to be playing soccer. If they have the best interest of the players, they will cancel or postpone the games. Same goes for Silverlakes. Ridiculous for Seattle United to be sending teams to that tournament when it is regularly above 90 degree weather with horrible air quality.

After all the stuff these kids have gone through over the last year and not being able to play, we should do everything to allow them that opportunity. Their safety is priority #1

I grew up in TX we did 2 a day work outs in 95-100 degree heat all the time. They'll give them water breaks, you have subs. Kids should be fine if they are properly hydrated. Only 25-30 minute halves for tournament, and 1 game a day. Calm down and stop watching the news, which is only interested in freaking people out.
Get your kid on a hydration schedule starting today. Educate yourself on what you will need to do to manage your athletes health.

Summer tournaments are vacations for the wealthier parents. I'm not going to tell them how to spend their money but let's not pretend it's for competitive game play.

C'mon, the entire premise of competitive soccer is now about individual development - either to get into college or go into the pros. Winning a summer tournament or three is way down on the list. Or at least it should be.

That’s naive. But sure spend $1000 and play the same or inferior talent in Norco CA.
