    Will Sound FC Survive?

Sound FC just pulled their only G08 team from competition, forfeited the season.

Are any of their teams doing well?

They going to hang on for another year?

Poor parents in that area have been bled dry for their $$ with little to show for it. How much has been wasted on re-branding ever few years, and the massive futsal facility they built and had to abandon as soon as they finished building it.

I don’t see how they do. Best case scenario is that they “merge” with another club, but don’t even know if that is an option any longer.

Terrible situation kids are in from shoreline to Woodinville Bothell. To play ECNL they have to go to SU, Snohomish, or Xfire.

Snoho only has Boys ECNL and they are at or near the bottom of ECNL at every agegroup. they do not have girls ECNL - only one of their girls team cpuld hang at ECNL (05's).

Put simply, no they won't. They are bleeding money, paid coaches a lot of money and those coaches added nothing to their program. Poorly run club and sadly the kids have to pay for it. XF the surrounding clubs will greatly benefit from this in the coming weeks and months.

this discussion is brought up every year. and every year sound fc survives. I have a friend with a daughter on one of their teams, and she says that sound fc is going ahead with tryouts, and is planning for another season. The friends daughter is happy, and likes her team.

They are down to single digit teams on the girls side total and are getting kicked out of the rcl. You would be legally insane to say at sound fc. Some age groups they have 3 different age brackets to just have one team.

I do think in this case, covid, and the resulting PPP funds kept this club afloat. Not getting ECNL, a dysfunctional board, allegations of discrimination and harassment, and then hiring an executive director that allegedly embezzled from the club has taken a much needed club for the community and put it completely at risk.

Pushing ECNL out to Snohomish doesnt make any sense, and literally only makes xfire stronger. There are a whole group of kids from Woodinville/Bothell to Everett and down to shoreline with zero boys ECNL options.

Snohomish already has Boys ECNL. Rush had it and lost it.

Yeah, its hard to say with Sound. Their teams are almost all bottom of the league, with the only exception being the 04 age group. 04 boys are solidly at the top of their bracket, and 04 girls team is not far behind first place. Tough situation for the good players on those teams. Seems as if the good younger players are all moving to more stable clubs. Curious to see if they stay in RCL.

Sound has lost their DOC/G05A coach David Mugambira (unspecific letter to parents that’s he’s “moved on”) and G06A coach Michael Duncan.
                      More trouble ahead?

A big chunk of girls went elsewhere. On the girls side they are having to combine age groups to make a team due to low numbers. Some age groups didn't have enough players at tryouts to field a team. Boys side seems to have higher numbers.

They were strong at the highschool girls ages, even adding a team, those teams seem to be holding together.

Looks like they added some other teams after tryouts at the younger ages.

Not saying they don't have some problems to overcome, but the club will be fine. and is headed in the right direction with new leadership. Sure some kids left for other clubs, that happens all the time. Kids came to sound from other clubs as well. One of the HS girls teams at XF is folding and there were several of them at sound tryouts.

NYSA's Select Program (NSC) has been promoting to it's player family members to enroll with Sound. Unfortunately for Sound, some of those better teams have decided to look elsewhere. The '07's in particular, about half that team left for another club.
