Interesting to see the consistent accusation of 'PSPL Envy' thrown about in these threads. Interestingly, you do know WYS is going around behind the scenes trying to convince the bigger clubs in the PSPL to merge with their local RCL club and come back into WYS right? The RCL is on life support given the recent losses to ECNL.

I am not suggesting the PSPL is any better or worse than the RCL but the fact remains the RCL is attempting to lure teams and clubs back. I'll leave it to the individual to place the motivation for doing so, but it certainly isn't envy on behalf of the PSPL clubs.

ECNL doesn't have anything to do with WYS - it's part of US Club. Most of the big clubs still have the same number of teams they've always had, other than their A team is really the B team because the A team is in ECNL.
Maybe the poster meant $2,000 not $200.

        Interesting. Which clubs?

I guess it will come out eventually. But if you look at the 5 biggest clubs in the PSPL by numbers of players and teams, they have all been contacted and offers made with conditions. Those conditions are ridiculous, so none of those clubs will do it. It will be interesting to see what happens next and if round 2 of negotiations come about. WYS is not willing to play ball as of yet but I'm feeling they will once the reality of the RCL and ECNL decimation comes about.

And you know that these 5 different clubs have received offers... How?

What conditions? Let the community decide how ridiculous they are. I'd love for there to be a unified league system again.

Willing to bet if there is a unified league, it’s more likely to be US Club...

Would love to see a unified league, let the cream rise to the top, and stop playing the same lame 5-6 teams the entire season.

That would be great. Adults get out of the way and let the kids play!

There are teams in Highline and Southlake where kids are paying $200 a year and winning their NPSL divisions & winning tournaments summer & winter. Those very top NPSL 1 teams are better than most RCL and PSPL teams.

$200! Someone call BS on this. That is cheaper than playing rec all year around.

And multiple Northshore Select teams playing in USYS Regional Presidents Cups the past few years. RCL won’t let them progress past D3, so they romp NPSL then enter WA Presidents Cup as unknown, under the radar, lowly select players. Just because you pay 2,500/yr to play doesn’t mean you’re better. Merge leagues, & have promotion and relegation to keep it competitive. Kids just want to play. It’s the adults that make it such a mess.

                          Southlake pays $1200

You lost me the moment you suggested Northshore was a club that others should be looking to emulate. Northshore. Ok, then. That tells me everything I need to know about your soccer IQ. (Not that the Highline and Southlake comparisons were any better.)

Look, I'm glad that those clubs exist. I'm thrilled that kids are enjoying their experience there. And I'm glad that some teams from those clubs have been successful, however you want to measure success.

But if those clubs are the "answer," you're asking the asking question.

The problem with just merging leagues and allowing open competition is that the adults will make it a mess. Have you seen AAU Basketball?

Yes it always sucks when you are on the outside looking in. But the alternative is so much worse. It’s funny how those on the outside keep saying how great PSPL and NPSL are, but then are begging to be let in.

                                Keep drinking your kool-aid!

Or come play in Div 1 of a high level tournament.
