As of today Scott Newman is out as the ECNL coach for the G02 and G03 teams. An email was sent to families and interim coaches are stepping in prior to tryouts. No reason was given.

WOW. How many coaches has this group of kids had? Is it normal for an ECNL team to change coaches every year?

There's some serious quality on that squad. There's several of them that are, in a technical sense, better than most ECNL players out there. Unfortunately, ECNL seems to reward brute strength and speed over good technical ability, in my opinion. They've got some technical maestro's moving the ball around down there at WPFC. Their confidence is down is all. They'll be alright.

Scott Newman
My kid played on one of his teams at WP. I can’t speak for other’s experiences but I never observed, nor did my kid report, anything that would amount to bullying. I found him to be helpful and willing to reach out to college coaches on behalf of players. I don’t know why the club let him go but claims he was a bully was not our experience.
