I really really don't give a rip about this post so shame on me for replying but here I go.


For those that know anything about the Showcase purpose (showcasing players for potential pro/college scouts), they want relatively even matches with teams that could go either way. no point in playing #1 vs #200 as that would not be fair to anyone on either team.

From USA Sports Statistics which is not perfect, but largely gets the overall "ranking" of a club generally correct. By this I mean they correctly predict scores based up on past performance with some incredible accuracy tbf.


SU (Currently ranked 33rd)
Lost to Legends (Ranked 39th)
Lost to SD Surf (Ranked 46th)
Lost to Utah (Ranked 52nd.

Not a great showing by them to be sure, but not the most embarrassing thing in the world. I am sure they all believed they could have put up a better W/L against that group.

3R (Currently ranked 125th)
Drew to SF Elite (Ranked 507th)
Lost to Cal Odyssey (Ranked 203rd)
Beat San Juan SC (Ranked 615th).

I guess I would say to the 3R poster... you probably should pipe it down just a little. You lost to a team 75ish places below you. Drew against a team 375ish places below you. And your victory was against a team almost 500 places below you while SU played mostly top 50 teams.

Just like those who say “we won wash cup” and yet they won the bronze level. Calm down

ECNL is just a patch. You don't need it to be great or to enter these tournaments. You Karen's need to get over yourselves and your player who will end up playing @ Salem College (big round of applause!)

Coming from a population of 80,000, the club and community should feel proud of the team's accomplishment.

3 Rivers is in tri-cities, with a population of almost 250,000. 80,000 isnt even close.

No one from 3R has ever begged to join ECNL. Another silly story that gets repeated over and over on this board of gossipy trolls. We have never had enough players to meet the ECNL reqs so we know that we cannot join. That is nothing new. We are fine, and will always be fine, without it.

This is like bragging about doing better than other teams at Surf Cup when they played in the Best of the Best tier and your team played in the bronze or whatever they call the lower tiers. Your team might have won more games, but mopping up against inferior teams in no way demonstrates they are better than teams that played far tougher competition. That also doesn't mean 3R isn't as good either. You just can draw any conclusions from that data set. Showcases are not the same as tournaments and attempts to rank teams from the results are meaningless. It's comparing apples to oranges. I think you know that. But here I am, feeding the troll...
