Verizon bans switching to competitor without approval of Director of Mobile Networks.

Oops, I meant Seattle United bans switching to a competitor club without approval of the Director, but sure, carry on with the monopolizing behavior. Let's see how long it sticks.

Don't cry. You know what you signed up for when you paid your first bill and signed that agreement

Haven't heard about this yet. How do the ban you? I assume there will be issues with player card release? Do they have some type of penalty in the contract?

Players do jump between clubs, there's no way to enforce this, and all the big clubs know it. Is this actually documented somewhere? Or did someone just make it up, or post some sideline gossip?

Many clubs wont release players within the same league. I've known 3 players that clubs wouldn't let play with the new club. It was for the 3rd team too so wasn't like they were ringers, it's a crap thing to do to a kid who for whatever reason isn't enjoying their experience with club or coach for the season. Players all refused to continue to play with the club they left so not sure what it accomplished other than hurting the kid. I've since heard if you get WYS involved they will help you get a release.

Within WYS there is only one way to restrict player movement- if the player owes money yo the club.

US Club/ECNL does not restrict player movement:

                  Seattle United Website:

Refund Policy: Upon commitment to a team, you are financially responsible for all club fees as stated for the entire play year. The club considers 20% of the club fee a 'commitment fee' that is non-refundable. Additionally, players will not be released from Seattle United unless all club program fees and team fees are up to date at the time of the withdrawal request. Club fee refunds are calculated on a case-by-case basis, considering the circumstances leading to the player's withdrawal. For all withdrawals due to a season-ending injury, a physician’s note must accompany the withdrawal form. All withdrawal requests for pro-rated reimbursements, releases and withdrawals must be made using the official club form, and presented via email to the club registrar, Paige Blomsų, and to the Executive Director, Kyle Rodeheaver. Click here for the withdrawal form.

SU releases players mid-season, seen it multiple times.
