    Elite Academy League Feedback

I recently learned that my son's soccer club has joined a new league I hadn't heard of before, the Elite Academy League. Initially, I was unsure which teams from our club would participate. However, we received emails requesting our availability for the first showcase event in December, indicating that our team will be involved.

I'm curious if anyone has experience with this new league or if it's too recent for much feedback. It seems we'll maintain our regular schedule alongside this new league commitment. Considering state cup competitions as well, we're looking at a packed winter and spring season.

Does anyone have insights to share about this league or similar experiences with multiple league commitments?"

It operates almost identical to ecnl. Weekly schedule, national showcase, and national playoffs. Valencia and Atletico got added this year. Top teams include CW Sounders and Seattle Celtic. Not sure why you are still having to follow your old league schedule, all EA teams only do EA as far as I know.

Sound FC boys teams have also joined.

Last year my son was on Valor. They played both RCL and EA.

Normally a club would have to have all 6 age groups committed to play in EA. I think Sound FC is in an open division where they can send a few teams to a national event but they don’t have a weekly schedule with EA.

I really wish these leagues would come up with more original sounding names to prevent the confusion. How hard can it be.

NAL is mediocre. Best NAL teams are about as good as middle of the pack ECNL teams.

Not true. All of the best WPL teams went to EA so now WPL is a rec league. EA is basically the old NPL.

Tell that to SU B10 ecnl, lost the group to an EA team at Surf Cup.

If the leagues don't have the word "elite" in them you parents won't spend over $5000 on dues and travel, hence they all need to have the word. Add "academy" to the name and you will go all in at $7500 + with coaches travel and extra "elite academy showcases"

XF academy is closer to 20-30K per year.
