If you look at the age of most people involved in coaching or running youth soccer, they played in the 80's/90s. Maybe some early 2000s. At that time we had even lower quality athletes playing soccer and it wasn't the style of soccer we know we should be learning today. It was mostly bootball.
If kids aren't watching A LOT of top level soccer ( hint... not MLS or most international matches), and parents aren't able to help explain things, they are in serious trouble. Not enough good coaches, and when you do find one, they are normally only with the team a couple years.
