You can’t cheat when running a marathon. If you don’t you might get caught.

There's some principles that help, parents, and kids, however.

Good genes: we shouldn’t ignore biology, genetics, or physiology. I’m not talking eugenics here.
Be realistic: as you move through the years don’t ignore the data. Keep your goals within reason.
Work hard: your kid should focus on their effort.
Enjoy it all: don’t forget to have fun.
Focus: don’t goof off at practice
Be social: develop a winsome personality
    Be kind: it’s difficult sometimes.
Keep your nose clean: steer clear of the gossip and politics
Attitude: develop character and gratitude. Don’t be entitled.
Love it: Fall in love with the game, she will love you back
Be interesting: There’s more to life than soccer. Believe it or not.
Trust karma: don’t fret over the nonsense or what we might call unfairness or inequities. In the long run, the cosmic accountant audits the books.
Give back: invest time, talent, and treasure into your club and the system. The law of reciprocity never fails in either direction.
This is **** my kid was all of this and they got shafted, while the *******s prospered an d were rewarded
