    Summer Camps/Sessions for a 14 year old

Anyone have any recs for a good summer session to help my kid prepare for high school? It’s not a super competitive HS team but any help is better than nothing .

My kid did the real madrid one down at Starfire around that age, one of the few with a fairly large group of older kids and the level of play was competitive. Most high schools also have summer sessions starting in June for incoming freshman, you should e-mail the coach or check the schools website.

The Valencia CF summer Academy is really good. Always at Starfireon grass fields which is way better than turf That is hot as hell in July. The actual academy coaches from Spain come every year. My kids have done it two years in a row and going for our third year.

+ 1 for the València CF camp at Starfire. My 13 year old son is going back second year this summer. Was his favorite soccer camp he’d ever done (above the Sounders camps, Nike, Peter fewing.)
while younger kids do join, it’s seemed to have a higher amount of older players than the other camps and the instruction is by coaches from Valencia CF here and from Spain, was at a higher level than other camps.

Best camp in the area is Liverpool FC International Nike Camp. You can register at the below link.

You can't be serious. Check out the Peter Fewing soccer camps.

You are at a tough age. High level soccer camps for 14 year olds are few and far between. They are just too old for the majority of the camps.

Coaches like Derek and EJ will hold very specific age group camps that tend to be well attended.

I recommend that you get 3 -4 kids and ask a coach for group lessons. In my opinion, way more beneficial for a 14 year old than dribbling cones with 10 year olds.

If you can, another option would be to help organize a team camp. Sending your entire team to a camp can be a great bonding experience, and you will onow that the camp has enough age parity to make it worthwhile.

Question, why isn't your player playing for a RCL/WPL team right now? They could be training three times a week and will be more than prepared come spring.

Practices are in the evening so I was looking to keep her busy during the day since I know she won’t be doing anything on the summer reading list or brushing up on geometry ☹️

Seattle Reign has a few. You can find them on the website. My daughter might do one this summer. $400 full day/week or $200 half day for the week.

+1 for Valencia CF Summer Academy. They just announced the academy coaches from Spain who are coming this year and one of them was here for last summer's camp so that's pretty cool he's coming back.
