There's only so many times a coach is going to bother another coach by asking them to play one of their players. It's not an endless merry go round. If other girls on the team have already played up, then that's that for the season. Work harder in the off season or leave the club. It ain;t happening for her or you this season. Your perception of your kids skills is not what coaches see.

feedback is a whole other story and if shes not getting feedback why dont you speak to the coach about it? You haven't answered that as others have suggested. See what the coach says and be open to it. You just might learn something.

Again, it’s not about “me.” I’ve said multiple times, just looking for a club that provides honest feedback….if there are any. I understand my perception is not what a coach sees. lol Hence why we want HONEST COACH feedback. But continue not to get anything.

We have asked for feedback. We’ve had 2 formal reviews. Again, the information wasn’t helpful at all. Very generic comments. Other families have said the same…the reviews weren’t helpful. Could just be a coach thing like others have said though. Not sure every coach has the ability to develop players to their potential.

Some clubs provide written evaluations each year on specific technical and tactical areas of the players season and ranks each area as needs improvement, at level or excellent and then the coaches can write a few sentences or more expanding on each or certain sections and things done well and things to work on and then a paragraph summary of the player’s season. Of course it’s up to the coach as to how much they put in it and you can decide whether you agree with the assessment or not but it’s provided.

Inexperienced coach. There are many. There are also stellar coaches like our current coach @ EFC. Even at our previous clubs we've always received constructive feedback. If the same coach will be coaching this team next year and your kid isn't good enough to move up then I'd leave. Tryout somewhere else and close this chapter. Families do this every year.

Totally. I believe all programs have good, bad and inexperienced coaches. Just was unsure of how to move forward. We’re not the type to hop around just to try and get moved up or more playing time but would like for our daughter to progress and have a good experience.

thank you again everyone for the honest opinions!

Seriously, try Lake Wash Premier. A smaller, boutique club with a great culture. Our girls love it there and they get feedback from both of their coaches. Not sure what age group your daughter is in but LWPFC field some strong teams in the WPL. https://lwpfc.org/

At least attend a practice as a guest and let her see for herself. Talk to the coach.

Good luck to you and your family! There are a lot of great clubs out here. You just have to find your home.

Apparently not a lot. And you have to be lucky to get actually written feedback, not a copy/paste from some template like we did. 80% of the contents was word-for-word exactly the same as another kid on our team.

Valor does written evals, similar style to the one described above.

If i asked for feedback I'd be tagged a problem parent and my kids would suffer. It's reality there are 15 kids waiting to take their place.

You could ask this about any employer and would get divided responses. What exactly are you upset about with your kid? They're stuck on C team for two years?
