That’s what we observed while at XF. I don’t know if it is against the rules at all, probably just helps the select players win some medals and feel good.
What I can say about my son's Crossfire Select A team (and when he was on the B team) we never had any players from XF premier play on our team even during the summer tournaments. Only a few times did XF premier kids train with us when their teams were on breaks.

Summer tournament rosters aren't cast entirely in stone. Typically teams can have up to five guest players in the summer.

I don’t know which age your son is at and I don’t care.

the 2010s XF select always “got help” from the top XF Premier players during tournaments.

They aren’t cast in stone, you are right.

However, the premier player (who typically helps the select team win some medals during the tournament) IS and has always rostered on the top premier team. He is just helping win medals during tournaments.

The rule is that you cannot play for two separate teams in one week regardless if you are dual rostered or not.
