Thoughts on club coaches that also coach high school. We have a club coach that was coaching only the hs girls team that just got hired to coach the boys as well. Any conflict? He also coaches both boys and girls at the club he works for. What about him trying to get players to leave their club for his?

Who cares. Kids should get to play for the club they want for whatever reason they want. Soccer is the only sport that has this non recruiting thing amongst the RCS clubs that everyone just works around anyway. It’s stupid.Originally posted by Guest View Post

Yes, club coaches at High Schools recruit players for their club. That’s the main reason why club coaches coach HS - recruiting and money. Ain’t gonna change. Might as well try to hold back the sea.Comment

WAII policies on paper are strict about prohibiting a highschool coach from coaching or even training an athlete in that same sport outside of the formal HS season. There are not a lot of club soccer coaches coaching at HS as it's a lot easier money to pick up another u-little team than 6 days a week during the HS season. However when a club coach even just volunteers as an assistant I have seen full on recruiting for their home club it's like they can't help themselves.Originally posted by Guest View PostComment

Coach Dan? He sent out one e-mail to the surf college ID camp and had it approved by the athletic director first. That was the only recruitment the girls HS players saw.Comment

Dan recruited some girls hard for their titans/surf teams from our HS. Especially obnoxious considering Dan poached most of a team when he left select. Leslies HS team has won 1 game in 2 years and the players don't like him, so he has the opposite effect of recruiting for them :D how they convinced people to pay him to coach EA boys level is beyond me.Comment
