Pac's teams generally don't fare well when it comes to wins and standings. This makes them an easy target for miserable people that need to punch down to feel better about themselves. What's interesting is that Pac families, on average seem happier than families from clubs that are objectively more successful.

Year in and year out PAC attracts great talent at early ages.

They try hard to get rid of those competitive players by playing a none competitive brand (a very distinct unsuccessful brand) of soccer which leads to lack of team success (even though talent is great).

By the time the team is u11-u12 all of those players have left.

From u11 or u12 to u15 PACNW teams struggle becuase all of their talent has left.

At U15 other ECNL clubs and sounders cut better talent than PAC has at u15. This talent consolidates at PAC and is good enough to make a fairly deep squad. This is a varifiable cycle.

By this time pac is finally playing to be fairly competitive and can win with this 3 or 4th rate deep talent (behind Eastside XF and Seattle United).

A lot of people hate on PAC (in my experience) becuase there are a lot of people who have top players on a other ECNL clubs that left PAC during the U11-U12 period. These people are salty about PAC.

All the clubs are terrible. Pick your poison.

Pac used to be pretty rotten from the top. 4-5 years ago they got caught cheating on ECNL recruitment, which resulted in them getting demoted in standing in the RCL for two years, and all the area RCL clubs blacklisting the winter classic. They got caught cheating on their rosters having kids play on multiple teams at their own winter classic resulting in forfeit results for them. I think they have new directors since then? Idk didn't follow it past the things that directly affected the team my kid was on.

At least on the girls side they are usually near the bottom of the rankings in ECNL so it makes them an easy target.

Su takes less criticism on this site because they are professionally run and do most things correct. For a huge club they have a unique culture that produces top players. What more needs to be said.

hahaha, you obviously haven’t been around long. Does anyone care to share why Bastien left to SU? Or do we want to keep ignoring that story?

Parents should ask what? Probably shouldn’t throw out someone’s name without specifics and probably some verifiable facts. Not cool.

Can someone clarify regarding the week 2 of the Winter Classic? Was it completely cancelled or just moved to this weekend?

Totally canceled, teams were refunded 75% of the fee.

Where did the other 25% go? Admin fees?

If they didn't refund it, they still have it.

My guess is that some of their expenses couldn’t be recovered. Just because they held 25% back doesn’t mean that they still didn’t eat some cost. Seems pretty reasonable in the business world for “acts of nature” situations. Just try to get your money back from an AirBNB if you have to cancel last minute and didn’t purchase travel insurance for your stay. You would be lucky to get anything, let alone 75%.

This is the case where airbnb cancels your reservation and does not refund 25% of the deposit.
