    Partial Sounders Academy Player

Recently, I hear more and more about Sounders Academy players who are getting "partial offers". This is not about the discovery/futures program, but u15 and up. They practice with the Academy and appear at some of the games, but they can practice with and play games for local ecnl/rcl clubs. I assume they pay nothing for the sounders program, but are they expected to pay for the local club they play for? Are the non sounders teams expected to carry these players who are not committed to them?

I’m not sure how the club part works but the part time boys don’t pay for sounders.

If you don't know, why are you responding?

There is a category of player in MLSNEXT that allows players on the roster who may not play as much to be part time (a future player). They can play up to 12 regular games and still play with their home club, which must be a club affiliated with the mls team (partner club). They used to use this for u15 play ups but now a lot of 09s seem to be part time. Only some of them seem to still be at their club too even though it is allowed. I’m told that there are also some “part time” players that actually are not on the official roster so they just train and can only play if they get rostered or play as a trialist. There are at least 8 future players on this years team. There are a couple on u17 also.

No clubs are forced to do anything and the finances are between the club and player.

            Better?

How about you just dont respond when you don't have the answer to the question? Why do you feel compelled to say anything when its clear you dont know?

              are you that lonely?

Start a separate thread if you want to talk about something else.

Really? Why don’t you check your facts?

None of the teams were required to take kids back. It was up to the clubs

whatever finances are are up to those involved, and of no matter to you. Between players and clubs involved.

The guy answered your questions, but here you go. The kids we know doing this are expected to pay club dues. The clubs that take them have no obligation to take them, or play them, if they think they are less committed. Usually the he sounders and club come up with a mutual training and game plan.
