    Local Elite Premier Cashcow FC

Is Washington Youth Soccer paying attention?

The problems identified in this article explain so much about the state of youth soccer in this state:

How different is soccer from other sports from those in the know with regards to the pay for play model?

    Baseball/Softball
    Basketball
    Football
    Hockey
    Volleyball
    etc.

Is it a soccer problem or a US sport’s culture problem?

Don't forget dance and gymnastics. Does football have a big pay for play model ?

But the article authors are blatantly lying to your face (shock! I know) with the statements like:
"The system of (mostly) affordable youth teams and high school play that works for football, baseball and basketball somehow won’t work for soccer."

All the sports are equally expensive in fact a full year of basketball is more expensive as they break it in to segments meaning summer season and winter season and spring. Football is probably least expensive but the equipment is the most expensive that being said I am guessing with 7 on 7 leagues now that gets up there. Honestly it is an American thing.

Yeah, it's an American thing having to travel at least 300 km to get ANY decent competition in the region. That's 50% further than going from Manchester to London.

Travel 7 v 7 football leagues, speed and agility training like Ford Sports isn’t cheap.

Football is the one sport however that many can pick up
late and excel simply in size and athleticism but for
many it’s still $$$. Of course there is the lost scholarship $ in football.

As far as soccer goes, the number of kids that are at national team level are so few.

If soccer was cheaper participation rate would be higher... if participation rate was higher travel could go down to get good competition.

Soccer is extremely cheap if you just want to play - get the ball some friends and drop in at any available field, there are relatively plenty of those around. But for course, nobody wants to play for fun, everybody wants to for scholarships and thus here come the travel and coaching costs. So let's maybe start thinking why nobody wants to play for fun?

People don't play for fun as much because the Cashcow Scam sucks them in?
