XF 10 boys play glorified kickball and all the boys run around like headless chickens. XF 09 are a far better team and will beat SU easily.

For the 10's, It's SU/XF then everyone else. Eastside isn't even in the same realm.

So there is a window right now where some 08s can play for the 09s. I know my son's team will have 08s train with the 09s but not play in legit games because it messes with the team dynamic and won't help them get better for the post-season ECNL (where those 08s would not be allowed on the field with them. I get that it sucks for the kids in 8th grade, but that rule does seem to mess with the integrity of the conference results IMO.

Re: the 08 Eastside boys being front of SU this year - SU 08s took a hit this year losing a handful of players to the Sounders. This will likely be the same case for the 09 team next year. Eastside will probably lose an 09 or two as well. Crossfire 09s already lost 2 kids to the Sounders last year and that is why they were beatable this year.

Eastside seems like a really well coached club with a good culture. I would agree with those who say that they are generally not that far behind SU on the boys side. If I lived on the eastside I would personally choose it for my over Xfire just to avoid the craziness at Crossfire, assuming the particular coach was a good fit for my kid.

Re: the comment that SU 09 will beat Crossfire this weekend - from your lips to God's ears! While I want SU to win, I would disagree with anyone who says either team has a strong advantage going into this one. This should be a crazy intense game for all the chips. Hopefully the SU 09s can close it out like the 10s did this weekend. Go United!

The eastside B09 team has had many players come up from the team bellow them this year which may have been affecting their performance.

Unfortunately, even if everybody does follow the advice, that doesn't stop some provocateur from posing as an Eastside parent to stir things up. It's a completely anonymous chat board. You can't trust that anyone is who they pretend to be. You can't trust that anything posted here is factual, or is even based partly on fact. And the closer it gets to tryouts, the crazier the parents get.

Not an Eastside parent but I don’t think that this is correct. It’s pretty much the same team.

I think the implication is that they had a cohort of kids that were bigger/stronger/faster on average compared to other teams for the last year or two and that they will regress to the mean as other kids catch up? I have no idea if that is true in that team's case. I can say that the U14 year can contain some extreme differences in physical development from one player to the next.

Yeah that B10 team at XF really plays directly. I mean it isn't even soccer honestly and I am surprised the coach gets away with it. Yes they are winning games, but what sort of development is that? There has to be at least a few parents on that team who realize what is happening, right?

I cannot comment if the gap is less at the younger age groups then before, but I can say there is a real big gap. I can also state that there are players who are in the EFC territory that travel to play for XF and SU, not the other way around. In conclusion, whether the gap has shorten or not, XF and SU are still far ahead of EFC and I encourage any player from the EFC territory to consider traveling to the West if playing at the absolute highest level is a priority as you may be with a much stronger team, even if you are not the strongest player when joining XF/SU.

But for most players, just stay at EFC or ISC.

they get away with it because they are winning, simple as that. if kids aren't "developing", they will end up being replaced down the road. the best players will always gravitate to xfire that's just how it goes. winning begets winning

Or the other teams are having more kids hit puberty earlier, so they are at a disadvantage. That’s how I read it anyway. I don’t know what the poster meant.

So does 09 since Troy left.

That match between two top 10 US teams, xf10 vs su10 was a mess.
looked like volley ball more than a soccer game.

all one speed. Make an easy pass if it’s in front of you, if not, let it fly towards the box and run like crazy.

having never seen eastside play, they can’t be any worse than those two teams although they win less games.
