    ISC Gunners & Referees

Gunners, a club known for having coaches and parents who notoriously abuse referees have ditched their long-time referee organization provider, East King County Soccer Referees (ECKCSRA) and switched over to Northwest Soccer Officials. Well, while the referee assignor(s) for ISC games may change, nothing else will. NSO Officials and EKCSRA officials are the same refs, while NSO tends to be more focused on the southside (Starfire, Washington Premier, etc.) The same referees who were working ISC games that were listed on the EKCSRA site will now just assign to the same games from the NSO website. There are no where near enough referees for a club with ISC's reputation to get new refs to their games. NSO and EKCSRA refs are the same and this move does nothing to solve Gunner's problem. Their problem is internal, they can not seem to figure out how not to abuse referees. Yelling at teenage refs is deemed acceptable at ISC when a call doesn't go their way.

“Lets go blue,” I miss that voice. NOT.

I just thought it was just our age group.

well maybe if some of ISC kids started reffing they would stop yelling at kids. Had some ******* yelling at my kid when they were reffing. I photograph games, so I'm often at games I'm not emotionally involved in and the parents are horrible. I've yelled at parents for yelling at minor refs, it's indefensible, I don't care how bad the call is. It's f'ing youth sports game that wont mean a damn thing to you in a couple of weeks. ISC isn't the only club known for ref abuse Snohomish I'm looking at you. I actually had a dad tell me yelling at the ref is part of the fun of the game, if you think abusing people is fun and part of the game you should not be going to youth sports games.

Refs self assign, if your team is mean they wont ever do a second game, once you've gone through all the refs you will no longer have refs for your games. You realize these people get $40 bucks to strand out in the weather for 1.5hrs and get verbally abused by people who often don't actually know the rules. It's very hard to get 2 games in series to work so often a one and done game, so with travel comes out to less than $15 an hour, My kid quit reffing and they get $21 an hour plus tips working at coffee place. FYI lacrosse is paying their refs $75 a game and up . . .

Yes please blame one club for an issue that is hitting every sport across the whole country. I am sure it feels good to excuse yourself and your club from any wrong doing. I am sure you have never been at a game when your teams parents have yelled at a ref.

You and I should meet and we can figure out who is the real warrior… you’re just a coward behind a keyboard using uneducated language to try to insult people when a ****** is actually stronger than you will ever be.

I remember being on the sidelines and the gunner parents.

they used to have some coaches that encouraged the dirtiest play. It was terrible to play against them. The Karen’s on the sidelines combined with the dirty play.

Also remember when those players came to tryouts and did not receive a pass. Soccer is a small world.

My kids have played against ISC at the 10 age group and we didn’t notice anything worse than any other team with passionate parents. Maybe it is a one off. Are they really that bad?

What's dirty play to you? Also, at tryouts it's really not about helping other players very much - it's about showing what you can do - often that means you dribble out of situations vs. pass.

ISC here trying to argue that they aren’t abusive by calling a kid ref a pussy! Pretty much sums up this club.

Ok, dirty play. Back in the 02/03 days, a gunnar player wiped out a players from behind and the player broke are arm. Ok wait, wait for it, the ball was on the other side of the field. We sent the video to the league, nothing happen.

                          Go blue

Is that a club issue? or a player issue? I rarely see "dirty play" like that, but it happens just about everywhere very occassionally. Most of the time when I hear "dirty play" it's from a parent that clearly didn't expect the level of physicality it takes to play at a high level.
