    Id2

Nice to see two local kids selected, both out of WPL teams. The Wenatchee kid is legit, I’ve seen him. Just curious why no representation from PNW Ecnl kids?

ID2 is more of a discovery/exposure thing. ECNL kids are already on the YNT radar if they need to be. This is for players from programs that probably don’t get seen by YNT scouts otherwise. Still a very impressive accomplishment but maybe 1 or 2 kids out of hundreds from ID2 will ever be called into YNT camp.

I believe the northwest ECNL kids are going to the youth national team camp instead.

Per the XF Social media feed, they had two 09 girls make the USYNT camp a year up which seems odd considering how good the 08 girls are. But good for them.

It’s a typo. The camp is for U14/2009 players.

Got it. So it’s the West Region ID camp, not the national camp. That makes more sense. Big difference though. But a nice achievement.

US Club Soccer. It’s their “National Pathway.” It is a good program but it’s almost exclusively regional level players. I’m not sure what US Youth does. I think it used to be ODP, maybe it still is.

They had the girls US youth National minicamp last weekend. Anyone heard about the boys camp and if anyone from Washington was invited?

Think it’s next weekend. Some no brainers and some surprises and surprising omissions. Like always.

Next weekend is the US youth u14 west regional ID camp. Starting with 3 regional camps (East, Central West) .240 players today working to 60 total after the regional camps. Those 60’will be called to camp in June as US soccer looks to get to 23 for fall tournaments.

ID2 is something different. They were Feb 2-6. West have has 36 players. East half has 36 players. They are looking to pick the top 18 and that group goes to England for free around spring break to play in London and Manchester. They usually play against top youth academies like Barcelona, Juventus etc. so if they are in Manchester probably will play Man City or Man United.

A pretty cool opportunity for the boys.

oh and during the ID2 west national camp, there are supposed to be MLS and national team scouts.

Why were the local ECNL clubs not represented at ID2? Seems odd

No seattle based ECNL players because the ID2 tryout was in a weekend that was the 2009 ECNL showcase in Arizona or CA. 4 kids from seattle got selected to go to Sacramento in their “west top 36”. One kid with ties to Sounders, one with ties to Timbers and then two others not linked to MLS clubs.
