    Who Gets The Credit?

Let's say that a team has had the same coach for multiple years, that coach developed the players over a multi-year period, primarily during the most critical developmental periods. Then one year the coach retires/leaves/dies/whatever and a new coach comes along. At what point is the team a product of the new coach and no longer a product of the old coach?

A: Group effort, all coaches from rec to college play a role
B: First full season new coach has the team he gets all credit
C: Old coach gets the credit for 90% and new coach gets credit for 10% maintenance

100% plus the environment! Club soccer in the USA is a scam. My kid played in Europe, and not at a professional academy however same league as some of them in second division because they have relegation. The fee was 800€ for the year.

The players get the credit. Coaches can aid development, but they can't overcome the desire and workrate/effort of the player. 99% player, 1% coach. A coach - training a team 2-3 times a week for 90 mins, can't take credit if the player is working 1-2 hours day on their own.

Most players in the US youth system are developing in spite of the coaching, not because of it.
