Clubs that rotate position for kids?

This is sadly accurate. You could say the same thing about building out of the back (vs simply booting up to forwards)... I am no expert - but I watched (from another club) as PacNW tried to do both of these things in the young ages... and then they were rewarded by having their top players leave to the clubs that are winning.

And this isn't to say that the Pac way was "right". It would probably be very frustrating to be a part of a team that seemingly doesn't care at all about winning. After all - winning is definitely more "fun". But I admired how they tried. Not sure if they are still doing this or not though...

Pac did play good soccer, but they didn’t lose their best players because their teams weren’t winning. They lost them because they treated the players and parents like s***. This is well-known and widespread.

Their 2008 boys group would have been by far the best in this area if they had kept all of the players they had back in the Jr Academy. But they treated most of them like crap and they left.
