    Referee Misconduct

Does anyone know if there is any recourse in regards to referee misconduct? Everything I can find online is about protections for the referee's and nothing about when they go rogue. The referee we had this weekend had a complete disregard for player safety, was on a power trip and the end result was one of our players going down with a fractured foot. Do the Clubs have any recourse in regards to filing a grievance? Had the referee kept control of the game and called the fouls that were happening it likely would not have escalated to the point where the player was injured. Not only that, he wouldn't stop play as the player rolled around in pain and threatened to throw parents out as they protested the incident. In all my years of watching soccer games at the youth level I've never seen a referee with such little regard for player safety.

Here's the list of the WA State Referee Committee members and email and phone numbers. That's where I'd start.

However, injuries happen, it's a physical/contact sport and a foot can be broken from a legal tackle that wouldn't necessitate an automatic stoppage like a head injury. So, w/o some video it's tough to judge.

Pretty sure it is. Bummer a kid was injured. I think the circumstance should be explored just because it’s not what people expect.

Give it a rest. I'm a XF hater, but at some point, just stop.

Refs are used to drama queens and soccer is a contact sport . Not saying the guy didn't do anything stupid but injuries happen and so does diving.

How long did the whistle take 4 seconds?

You should have waited for the ref in the parking lot.(joking) If you are really worried about your kid pull the player from the game. These refs make $40 and with parents like you we have a shortage.
