Join a different league. It’s been said multiple times, this particular player would be a good fit at 2009 on a Girls ECNL team. What happens when a boy wants to play on a girls team? Separating competition based on gender is a pretty fundamental thing. If this was some kid with no access, for example a girl that wants to play Football or a kid in a rural area, it’s different. This girl lives in Portland. The family and coaches are being obtuse.
But they don’t WANT TO join a different team or league, boo-hoo. So let’s just change one of the foundational constructs of athletic competition to accommodate their particular situation. What a joke. Look up the definition of entitlement and it should have a picture of these parents.
