The elite academy league is a mess and not worth playing in. Lots of unnecessary travel tournaments, showcases, and double header event game weekends. Its honestly a waste of money in my opinion and I will be leaving my club to pursue a new club with ECNL to get some real college exposure.

Same thing on the girls side with the new GA clubs, getting beat by RCL div 1 teams during league play right now. One club left the league before it started as they had to many players and one entire team leave before tryouts rather than sign up for pointless travel. Want college exposure, get your kid in ID camps for the schools they want to go to.

Seriously ? All the leagues around here are garbage . Pspl Rcl and npsl are all the same level . Granted there is four or five ecnl club teams but anything below that is mediocre and if you are paying thousands of dollars a year for the honor then it’s you who is stupid and gullible .

If you are an EALfamily you are paying $$$$’s and jumping on a plane to play your games. The only club locally are mount rainier and ISC.
Have fun traveling to Boise in the winter:

EAL=
3 subpar teams in Oregon
a sub par team in Boise
2 subpar teams in Western WA
1 Ok team in Eastern WA.
Have fun traveling every other weekend for soccer to play crap competition.
Seattle Celtic and Cascade are better than all these teams and are still playing PSPL!

The system is far from perfect but I don't foresee how it can change. As long as the parents keep paying money, why should it change? Someone brave and smart probably wants to step up and do it the right way, but he will be going up against a system that is deeply set. My hope is that some wealthy and passionate soccer fans invest into a real system, a system that a kid earns a spot based on merit and doesn't have to pay a single penny. I don't know how, but the investors can get a return on their investment in the future, maybe through sponsorships or something.
