Seattle United has almost every inherent advantage except dedicated field space. If Jimmy was not trying to keep within shouting distance of Bernie, SU would be even worse. I still don't think SU is a below average club on a national basis. It is just always chasing XF.

Agreed. I’m interested to see what Bernie’s next move is. Just feels like ECNL isn’t enough after the DA debacle.

3 full ECNL teams in each age group.

So a couple of things. SU struggles as the have sub-par coaches. In comparison of XF not all clubs make team fees and travel free like Xfire. I would freely state that if I could have a kid get paid to play soccer I would. That is the model of xfire at the upper ages.

free travel/fees is uncommon among US soccer clubs in general (for girls). if there's another team besides crossfire doing it, I don't know of it.

Valor's CEO is telling people that he's lining up a sponsor to make their club free to play

So we've got that going for us

THIS. Coaching is bad, especially compared to coaches they had on staff a few years ago, who have moved on to other clubs/careers. There's a lot of turnover now.

Just like when they were going to get ECNL right? They take in almost a million dollars in fees. There’s a zero percent chance Dean is lining up a million dollar sponsor.

I agree with you I don't think it's going to be free. If it is, it's better than ECNL.

Will the two people who continually post about valor please start their own thread? The majority of us give two ***ks

Although I think I like XF style of no pay at the upper levels, why hasn't other clubs adopted it? Perhaps it is unsustainable financially?

I don’t think it’s feasible. My understanding is that XF makes a significant amount of money from their tournaments which significantly helps their financials. Most clubs can’t do the same.
