The cost to rent this complex is astronomical, plus the club is spending a ton of money to water the fields, buy new goals, etc. This is not going to be a big money maker for the club (would be surprised if they do more than break even), but, rather, an earnest attempt to keep the number of different locations parents and players have to drive to to a minimum, as well as provide a fun, festival-style tournament location.

Salem tournaments often charge for parking, as has Crossfire in the past. By all means, carpool! There will be tons of different food vendors out there too. Good luck to all.

I understand that I just wish it could all be if the tournament fee. And I am very glad that it is all in one place. Or maybe let people know when you sign up for the tournament that there is a fee. I just feel sometime Clubs are ripping you off by making you go through their Hotel and they charge more so they can give the club a kick back. And the parking fee the same thing. I felt LOSC Club was probably needing for those fields and that is why, I thought it should be in the tournament fee but then it would probably make it to high and you wouldn't get teams to play. So if you are from LOSC Club thanks for not having us run around the whole area for game specially Mary S. Young State Park. That was bad last year.

You know, I agree with GT on this. If I don't have to waste $5 in gas driving and trying to find some obscure field that is in an area time forgot, it is worth it. And look at it from an out-of-town teams perspective; all games in one venue.
I mean let's face it, we have all played in tournaments where the fields were spread out all over the place and when you get there, it's a glorified cow pasture. At least this way we have consistency. And don't even get me started on the 'Mandated Hotel' situation. LOL!

Hats off to the LO organization! IMHO of course.

Keep the players hydrated this weekend!

        Cheers! :D

Congratulations to FC Willamette Possession. It appears they tied for the U15 Championship. Do they not play overtime or PK's for this tournament for the Championship? Seems kinda strange, but sucks to lose on PK's so it's a good thing. The Washington teams definitely took care of this tournament otherwise.

SD- I believe Crossfire beat FC Will in PK's 4-3. The same score that they beat the Timbers in the semi's. Crossfire heads to Virginia Beach next weekend for the US Club National Championship.

BTW- the Mustang Blast won the USYSA National Championship this last weekend.

                Congrats

To FC Willamette Possession for a very well played tournament. The team had 8 goals for and only allowed 3 goals the entire tournament (one on a free kick in the first game versus Crossfire and two on great second-half attacks by Sunderland after leading 3-0 in the first half).

The championship game was hard fought, but Crossfire definitely seemed the more organized and energetic team. A 10 minute overtime left the game tied. Both teams had scoring opportunities throughout. It was tough to lose on PKs (FCW had 2 players shoot off frame on their kicks) but that is the way the game goes.

Good luck to all of Oregon's U15s, many of whom will be playing their first year of high school soccer.

                        Hey Hey Hey!!!

I think this is the first time we've seen someone with FCW. Welcome and please stick around. For the most part, it is a very positive bunch. Watch out for the "unregistered" people though. Some of them (or maybe there's just 1 person) like to stir the pot. Just ignore em or argue with em as we like to do now and then.

Anyway, great job Sunday. Sorry it didn't turn out better, but at least you represented Oregon well in the finals!!!
