So, this is a uPDX honk sniffing Westside's jock? Y'all might have been able to steal John Bain's 04 team, but that lightning is unlikely to strike twice, and the 04s have now aged out of ODP. ("Timbers staff" is running the 08 ODP). Teams that fail to advance out of the group stage in State Cup don't have much room to talk trash, summer tournaments notwithstanding.

It does seem like uPDX wants to become what WSM used to be. Got a long way to go to match the on-field results, let alone the long track record of producing professionals and international players, but when it comes to being insufferable and obnoxious, that y'all have got down pat already. So congrats.

At any rate, I'm sure you'll have no trouble thrashing Mt. Rainer this fall. Golf clap.

We are playing OYSA in Fall too. Can't wait. Westside will never be what they used to be. Their time has long gone and all they have left is the memories of the boys that used to play for them.

Truth be told, westside metros level of achievement will never be matched or even approached in your lifetime... Not happening with an mls next academy in Portland. Everybody is average, very average indeed.

If the TA dedicated more assets (read increase teams from just U15 U17 U19) and focused on developing talent at a younger age with a U14 team along with a Discovery program for U13 that was year round with the top 40-60 kids in the area I think they could be much more successful. The problem is money. They do not charge club fees and all travel is paid for by the timbers. Money is not infinite even for a MLS club.

The Metros are from a different time. Dilution of talent is here to stay. If the top kids played and practiced with top players everyone would benefit.

Our club has no present day or any recorded history of player development/ascension or even team achievement, as such we cherish our legacy as the Club Zero of Oregon.

EAL, at least for the Oregon clubs, is like going out and buying a brand new travel trailer and a new F250 to haul it, going down to Cabela's and buying a top-of-the-line rod and reel, a fully stocked tackle box, and all the accessories, filling the cooler with beer and brats and all sort of other things to cook on the portable Traeger grill, and loading it all up and driving halfway across the country....

...and then going fishing at a trout farm when nobody is looking.

Ya'll know it's true.
