The people who first posted about him resigning said it was due to “soft players’ who were unhappy prima donna types. Could be fake news but they were right about the resigning.

Unless the parents are well-heeled alums who routinely write checks with lots of zeroes at the end, you'll find that universities generally don't give a flying fvck what Mom or Dad think. Unlike most of the kids who play for CU or WT or any of the local youth clubs--emphasis on "youth"--the vast majority of college students are ADULTS, and generally expected to act like ADULTS. The relationship between a student (who is 18+) and his or her coaches, professors, advisors, resident assistants, deans, provosts, lab instructors, or whatever else--is simply none of the parents' business. Even if the parents are footing the bill, were one to darken the door of the math prof during office hours to complain about Junior getting a C- on the last midterm, he or she would be politely shown the door, along with the note that such topics are confidential, and can only be discussed with the student, because the student is an adult and able and expected to speak for him/herself.

Yes, there is a "rich donor" exception; people who write big checks have long been able to throw their weight around with college administrators. But other than that, parents are simply out of the picture. And this is especially true for scholarship athletes; there isn't even the "mom is paying for it" angle to justify parental involvement.

(Of course, college students being adults, consensual nookie between students and faculty/coaches is generally not against the law; even though it is unprofessional, can quickly turn into harassment due to the power imbalance involved, and will generally get the college employee canned if found out. Have NO idea if anything like that was involved in MK's departure; name-dropping his former colleagues at MSU is evidence of nothing).

Name-dropping his former colleague that was forced to resign at Miami and then enabled by certain individuals to get back into coaching (hiding and protecting him) only to follow the same destructive behavior is justified of attacking, and is evidence of everything wrong about this situation. GR, MK, JH, TS and MB all knew and said nothing. They all enabled the abuser and aren’t fit to be college college athletics, especially young women.

People enabled that clown to keep abusing women, and certain individuals enabled TA to keep job hoping until it finally came to an end. TA, GR and now MK have gone down, expect a couple jobs to open in North Carolina, and maybe another a bit further north. It’s coming.
So you’re saying that MK was let go because he enabled “abuse” years and years ago by some other coach? For that to be true, the abuse would have to be horrific and illegal. I find it hard to believe that OSU is helping to cover up abuse that horrible. If true, lawsuits will probably follow.

College Athletic Administrations cover up for coaches everywhere. OSU is not the exception. The story is still yet to unfold and hopefully the one who is responsible for covering coach's behavior will also get fired.

If it was bad enough to fire the head coach, the entire staff should go. Start a clean slate and a new culture. Oregon State should do better though and not cover any wrong doings up. Oregon State has become “Oregon’s team” with recruiting so many local players. Let’s go Beavers. Do the right thing!

What an idiot. You opinion is about as valuable as a used Kleenex in a gas station bathroom room. Huffing gasoline has not been good to your brain.

If it was complaints of abuse and the history of MK being an assistant to a coach who was let go, the coaching staff will go. Unfortunate but this whole problem revolves around enablers. That includes the universities that don’t clean house when this happens. Oregon State will want to move clean on away from this. More than that, after what happened at LSU, admin doesn’t want to take any chances. Any lawsuits would go against the entity that could pay. That would be the university, not some individual soccer coach. Personally, feel bad for all the coaches. Seems like prima donna complaining is the problem here. If not, the university should speak up and not allow an abuser to move on in secret.

Coaches are saying though mental health is a very real and serious issue, players know how throwing the term around loosely can purposely get coaches fired.

MK did leave college coaching to pursue other opportunities because of COIVD-19 as its officially stated in the Oregon State Athletics press release. OSU would not sugarcoat a resignation. It is unfair to MK to bring up his past dealings at other programs, or alleged issues with his current players in this situation. Again, the administration at OSU is telling the Nation that there is nothing to see, and this was nothing more than a simple coaching change because of COVID-19. Just can't see OSU not being straight with the public and its future women's soccer recruits.

But what happened at Miami with head coach happened! He was using his players for gratification and he was also nasty to his teams. He had power over them. The AD at Miami let him slide because he didn’t want to deal with the press, it was that bad! The AD was already dealing with major football issues and wanted to quickly ended his soccer problem, and he got it off his campus and allowed that coach to "peruse other opportunities” so he didn’t have to deal with it anymore. What is crazy to me is that even before he came to Miami he had snuck out of his prior job at a Michigan school because the head coach he was working for did the same thing with players and there was an ongoing investigation of the sex scandal.

Why is true is that MK departed Miami and got away from that troubled coach, only to go back to him! Everyone involved in college soccer knew what took place. They got that info from the young women on team. Anyone involved with University of Miami soccer knew what happened. Since this gossip was a buzz around all coaching and recruiting circles, how did University of Michigan and NC State not know what happened at Miami? How does the University of Michigan and NC State make such an error? Miami, Michigan and NC State helped this coach move on to two more schools, both of which he had to leave to "peruse other opportunities”. Certainly the coaching staff at these schools knew when they brought him in. Seems odd, and there should be investigations. Seems as if there were a number of enablers involved, and 3 of them are current D-I head women’s soccer coaches (was 4 before MK resigned). Many AD’s don’t care about women’s sports at some P-5 universities. Took years for Michigan State to deal with the gymnastics team Doctor, it is not like these things don’t happen. Maybe women’s soccer and sexual harassment aren’t high profile enough...
